I cannot see how any patent could be taken out on such a product. Any solution is constrained by the need to fit (or hammer in :p ) to the hole in the block which is a fixed size.

Another thing that makes a mockery of it, especially given the number of members on here who own lathes, Jim, Phil, Carl, you, RobH, myself, just off the top of my head.
