anyone know where i can get cheep window channels for the rear windows - mine are fecked

i got mine from somerford minis rob,

i got the channel kit, 24 self tapping screws, and 2 verticle draft excluders for £67.52 inc vat.

with the windows out, peice of piss to do.

I assume your bumpers are already black and in good nick ?

Otherwise, you can't paint chromed bumpers, right ?

front bumper has already been painted but was originally chrome. I've picked up a pair of reasonable rear bumpers which will need painting. All I do is scuff up the surfaces and use an etch primer before painting - not had any issues with paint failing yet

I think black bumpers will be the least of your worries!

well the rear side window seals turned up this afternoon so should have time to get them fitted and finish polishing the roof before is goes on the trailer tomorrow afternoon.

I'm not quite so far forward as i hoped but at least i'll make it to Avon..........

well a bit of an update;

the last time i spent any time on the car, i hoovered what was left of the drivers inner sill out of the companion box. The inner sills had been patched historically and oversills fitted; not my preference but they were sound at the time i painted it so left alone.

I managed to pick up a full length inner and outer sill repair a couple of years back and bit the bullet recently and instructed a local restoration guy to deal with the work as I simply don't have the time to focus on this as well as getting the turbo finished. The work started in earnest yesterday and i popped down to see progress at lunch today. To be honest, I was expecting it to be a bit of a mess so was not surprised at the extra repairs needed.

We decided to get hold of the full length step sill and lower 1/4 repair. The step sill has been replaced historically and the rear 1/4 repaired, however the seam is not the best and my thoughts were that as i've gone this far, I may as well replace the panel now, get the best finish I can and basically forget about it.

Its sitting in a mates workshop. Not sure what to do with it as a really fancy a metro turbo so may have to let something go
