Bitumen sound deadening off the floors. And the rest of the sound deadening around the car. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

It's my "ordinary" street car, I can not remove roof and doors :) . Heater is a useful thing in winter, even if I admit the turbo near the wall heats feet very efficiently.

700kg sounds about right to me for a daily road car.

There is nothing on the mini that weighs much. It is all little gains here and there. If you are looking for a big weight gain it is not there. If you want to save 50kg you have to save 1kg 50 times. Or more likely 500g 100 times.

700 kg, that is odd, mine was 650 with the MOT guy aboard (and very few gas)

Yea mine is '88 carb. I don't think turbo and brakes add 50kg, turbo weights 4kg actually.

I'm using powerdyn connected to the 12v ignition output of the ECU (going to the external amplifier).

My new battery is 6.5kgs lighter, you can save about 12kgs fitting polycarbopnate windows. You can easily save 10-15kgs on seats, and doors up to 25kgs for the pair...all add up to a max of 58.5kgs and none of which should effect the practicality of the car! :) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel

Likes been said, things on theyre own dont weigh much but add them all up and you end up with a fairly big saving! 1kg might be the difference between 14.9 and 15secs 8-)

You could always fit an ally skin to the doors, and leave the inner skin in position. The majority of the weight saving is in loosing the winder mechanism and glass window, and the outer skin. I can't see it being that much weaker at all. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fusion-Fabri..._homepage_panel
