Its a cheapo alloy rad, knocked up in a shed in china! from ebay:-

they dont seem bad at all, like an alloy copy of a super two core, and just over £55, we shall see if it turns out to be ok

Hi all, small update and firstly an apology what i am about to post is porn, engine porn but porn nevertheless. Picked up my new engine from Steve-benross on mon and its a work of art. Have got my GT17 on there, it was very tight, tighter than a nuns.....well lets just say it was tight. Had to fettle manifold and shave a bit off the block, have cleaned it up and repainted steve!, but its on with 1mm or so clearence bolted up with gasket.







just on with making oil drain in 13mm steel and have ordered a 13mm flouro lined silicone hose elbow, still trying to find bits for the downpipe though, really need and end and flange making for the turbo, nothing locally so may need to get on the phone mon.

Engine looks great.

Paul S has various laser cut flanges available. He has a post in the for sale section, but it will be as fair bit back.

What outlet has your GT17 got?

This has a cone shaped flange. Luckily I acquire one after buying 3 scrap 17's.

Scrappy should be a good place to start.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

Thanks every one for the help, had a look through paul s's advert however it seems he has the gt17 inlet flange and its the outlet I need, anyhoo just found a flange on ebay for a tenner which i think will do the job its just a 2.5" flared piece i need now, going to try local exhaust places that i know tommorow, see if there is an old exhaust or something with one on.

near to you oli google bog brothers at malton nr pickering their spot on at fueling ...... you have the MJ map which is nearly spot on

never let the engine go lean under boost and WOT ... wide open throttle and dont let it det .... 22 to 23 deg max advance to be safe!

if you hear a ping ...pinking lift you foot the engines life is threatend

Thats magic Steve, have got some maps from John who very kindly sent them to me, have heard bog bros mentioned before as being good, so decision made!

Hi all, well its in!

fuel pump setup



and the motor



Stuck in some supermarket 20/50 for the run in,backfilled the oil pump and filled the filter, span it over minus the plugs to get oil pressure which was quick. Was having problems getting the clutch to disengage, which having searched seems common with this setup, anyhow its sorted for now but at the time just left the ic off and started it n/a. It went on the first crack and ran it at 2500 rpm constant for about 3 mins just to get to temp, check things over and let things start to bed in. Now clutch is sorted going to fit ic, check all levels and then take it out to run in as per mr benross's instructions and check/adjust the fueling as I go, have locked bleed valve off so actuator should only give around 6 psi at the mo.

Thanks very much, there are a lot of really nice looking cars on here so its handy to nick ideas from here and there for placement of things and the general setup, found a ton of stuff out just by the handy dandy search button.

Hi Steve,
Obviously we spoke earlier but just wanted to say thanks again for the help setting up, few farty little problems, none of which are anything to do with the engine I might add, more all the shitty bits of my car and my relative inexperience!

However its together and running well, been out for the first time tonight to start running in and I have to say even with the boost locked down at 6-7 psi it is f##king hilarious. Cant wait to get it sorted proper and go out to have a play.

going to need some air/speed/chav holes in the front of the bonnet soon though





and i cant still shut the bonnet which i didnt expect!
