Was thinking about the pressures myself earlier as ive just fitted a new pump to my mpi. I run the injectors at 2 bar (as originally set by Stuart Gurr) and they sit pre charger so dont experience boost pressure. The Haynes BOL says the standard fuel pressure for the mpi is 1 to 1.3 bar! So wouldnt that mean that the spray would be ok on these injectors down to 1.0 bar?

Firstly Haynes is incorrect. The MPi runs at 3 bar.

I would imagine that Stuart Gurr reduces the pressure because the MPi injectors are very big for the port injection, which you do not need if injecting pre-charger.

Personally, I would fit some smaller injectors rather than reduce the pressure. Otherwise you will be dribbling.

Will a dribble be a problem if injected pre charger? would the charger help to minimise any effect of large droplets of fuel. Getting to 3 bar is easy enough but i dont fancy another blimin trip to emerald for a remap.

I don't know, but I would avoid anything that would cause any inconsistancy in the fueling, such as large droplets that may puddle in the inlet.

Good point, anybody know what injectors would be suitable then? I would need them to be the same dimensions as the standard mpi ones really?

What is the duty cycle of your injectors at peak torque and peak HP?

I run same type injectors but they are half the size as the MPi ones. At 107hp they are 67% duty cycle with 3.5bar fuel pressure.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Im pretty sure that the injector duty never goes above 50% ! it had Dave Walker a little dumfounded at one point as it couldnt get enough fuel through and icreasing the injector duration made f all difference - hence ive now changed the pump to a higher capacity one.
