That Swifty bush won't allow you to fit 1275 drops onto a 998. I initially thought it did but Joey was talking to Swifty about it. Appearantly it is for his circlip primarys.

It is mentioned here:

have you tried it V?

as above, when i spoke with nick at the nec motorshow last year, he said that the swiftune bushes only fit swiftune gears and it retained using an internal circlip, infact, i think i have its dimensions on email somewhere?

i also think someone else on here tried it, and ended up machining it down to fit, cant remember who though?

Benross has posted me the stock yesterday, so should have it early next week and be able to get them made up

No, I'm into the manly engines, so I don't need this. I did recall that you wrote that about the circlip.
Maybe it's easier to machine a groove for a circlip?

maybe, but i dont think the bush has similar od dimension to the std item, although could be wrong?

either way, cost of machining a primary and a 17 quid bush is still likely to be more than what ill be asking for these

Well, bit of a delay on these, popped in to the machinist today and his cnc lathe is down

a man from deawoo is coming over to have a look at it asap, then he has to clear the backlog, so until then these are on hold, he thinks its will be around 2 weeks.

he has also asked me to double check what the 'installed id' for the bush should be, he knows the crank is 1.5", and i have given him a std 998 nos bush that he has measured and gives 0.22mm (8 thou) clearance, which is his mind is rather alot, and had thought it would be about half that.

Does anyone know what clearance these should have?

No idea, but personally I'd be looking at around 1 or 2 thou running clearance on a bush.

well, bought another new top hat bush, pressed it into a spare primary gear, and the id was 1.506, so i think they are a sloppy fit from factory

He made the first one manually this morning, hes fitting it this arvo to see what the shrinkage is (if any) when pressed into the bush, hes aiming for an installed ID of 1.502", as he has looked at several of my cranks, and they are all a thou (at least) worn where the bushes run.

Once he has the figures to plug into the cnc (its fixed now) he will run off the rest.

Shouldnt be too long

Got a call early this morning (wasnt impressed, had a late one manually sniping some crunt on ebay lol)

my man had done them overnight (he musnt sleep either), so been to collect them, looking good:

he managed to squeeze 16 out of the stock i gave him, pressed one into my 1275 gear using a 3/4 Whitworth socket (i love this socket btw, i fits load of mini and motorbike nuts) and a big vice, and viola:

checked it on the crank tail and it spins silkily smooth:

For you foreign bods, itll be £27 plus postage, ill get prices as and when
