The diameter of the 12"s and 10"s is the same, but It runs out of puff at approx 7200.

Actually V there is 2" difference.

However if you had of said that the diameter when fitted with tyres (and stated tyre sizes) was the same then i could believe you.

(Hah! Take that Mr pedantic!!)

The 165/55-12 A048R tyre is infact smaller in diameter than my A032s

I will not take such a thing.

Nice pic Gareth, I had taught of putting a black bonnet on it but now Defoe think it looks better with the Red. I need to polish him tho you have it looking awesome in that picture.

What did you think of the IDA I half taught of running it on an IDA but want it to look sleeper so ruled that out.

IDA was great, a bit different and sounded fantastic.

Only problem was you could see how bad the engine mounts were!

The bonnet was a hasty 5 minute job with a rattle can and only stayed on cause I didn't want to cut the steel one.

UPDATE:

Well made a bit of progress on the engine Today, I bashed out all the core plugs and Oil gallery plugs and dipped the block which removed all the rust and paint.

I Then seat about repairing a hole the was formed in the block when a piece of gearbox decided I did not want to stay in the sump.
Never the less the hole is in a non critical place so it was wort saving IMO

From this:

To this:

I then set about tapping the block for 5/16 unf gearbox studs, while I was at it I taped the Oil gallery plugs to M14 and fitted some Tapered bungs.

I then Set about fitting the 3 Steel main caps and ARP studs and nuts:

I also blocked up all the water ways in the deck for the dry deck just forgot to take a photo.

The block is now all ready to go off and get line bored and honed It should be back by the end of next week.

Hi Minimole23,
We had a problem with the block so I had to get a new one bored due to the Snow around here I am snowed is so cant get out to the machine shop to collect the the new block.

There has also been a development on the Cylinder head front but you will all have to wait to see what that is, Mini13 will be proud of me I think :)

masterchief this is the care when Gareth owned it I have done very little to the shell as it was exactly as I liked it I have changed the wheels for some Mini lights but the Splits are going back on soon :)

Every time I see a mk1 that looks that nice I wan't to strip my shell of parts and start again with a 60's externally hinged mini.

Hmm, anyone wanna buy my shell? Its totally rust free!
