Proper lightened, good one. I took 3kg off mine but I went too far and the turrets flexed around the top arm affecting the geometry on the move.
Dont take out the bit inside the turret that the rebound buffer screws to.

quick update. had a go at the pedal box today, didn't go to mad but weighed what i had cut out .. saved 390g's :)



didn't drill brake pedal as i 'm not sure strength wise.



also started respraying the bulkhead as some tit spilt brake fluid on it :(

Cool, the pedals can be lighter though. The pad area on a mk1 is a smaller square shape (same size as a mk3 onwards accellerator pedal pad), you can trim yours down a bit.

its mounted to a small L shaped ally bracket that bolts to bottom of bulkhead. dont have a pic of it on my computer

Re-your subframe:-
It looks like your running front coilovers. So you should be able to hack off the outside edge of were the cones used to fit.
And just weld a plate on to square them off. *wink*

I drill holes in everything..!

steering column is mounted off the rollcage dash bar. got rid of bottom rail and the excess on pedal box :)

neat - ditch the cast iron brake bias on the bulkhead and put a little alloy adjustable one in its place - save a good hundred grammes.

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

looking neat, get some alloy calipers/drums/hubs if you can, start concentrating on the unsprung weight a bit too
