just a quick question... can you use silicon hose in direct contact with petrol?? doesn't it swell and dissolve? I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

you shouldnt really, as oils will deteriorate the silicone, but you can get specialist oil resisitant silicone hoses, no idea where from though?

got the carbs all connected up now. I'm going to need to do somthing with the throttle pedal to get some movment back at the pedal. only moves 2inchs from closed to open throttle bit of cutting and welding maybe needed. (spares throttle peadel on stand by) Other than that they have gone on very nicly. Just got to finsh the rad pipes and oil lines... exhuast.... wiring..... Wideband lambda........ you get the idea... lots more to do. I reversed the mount and drill a new hole for the cable further down the bar (5cm), that will get you half the throw, and doubled leverage internationally known as "big" swede |

Maybe a bit late, you have probably figured it out yourself by now… Cut the bracket and reverse it, weld Mount it up again and mark were the new hole is going in the bar If you after all that careful eye-lighning miss the damm hole, enlarge the holes in the bracket and adjust side ways by bending the bar8-) i now also run a stiffening rod that connects the two bars, broke it clean off in the joint, much better feel now NO FLEX Edited by G13B on 5th Apr, 2009. internationally known as "big" swede |

Right I measured the amount of cable need to fully open the SU then the new bike carbs (50mm for the su and 20mm for the bike carbs) used this as a ratio 2/5 so took the away from the leaver arm length and drilled a new hole 46mm fromthe pivot. Just have to drill a new hole in the bluck head for the cable and it should work. Only problem is I sheared off on of the bolts for the throttle pedal. First things first I need to fix that........ Some how |

Easy just take the pipe of where the banjo bolt went in, put the car in 4th, get you squirt can and as you push the car backwards keep squirting oil in the banjo bolt hole in the block. On 17th Feb, 2009 Rob H said:

or raise the oil cooler up, so the oil flows out of this back into the block, as you push the car backwards in 4th. |

Ahh Nice Idea but still Important to then re fill the Oil cooler as an Empty Oil cooler is not good for a new motor :( On 17th Feb, 2009 Rob H said:

just to check does the oil run from the bottom (where the filter used to be) to the higher point where the banjo was? Or the other way round? I've fed oil in to the oil cooler and all pipe but not tried pushing the car backwards in gear. Will enlist a helper on Sunday and try it (my drive slopes a lot)

feed oil into he blocks main gallery (the hole near the pressure switch) whilst pushing the car slowly bacwards in 4th, if you have a big syringe its a piece of piss.

just checked your pics, and the oil cooler is on its side, i had a similar set up a few years ago (mounted on the brace bar), and it can be a right pain getting rid of the airlock.

Oil cooler has ended up in front of the gear box now really low in the engine bay. I've got a squirty oil can so I will try that. Thanks |

Did you mount the point on the throttle or was that built on to them? Think I will need to fix somthing to the carb for the spring to pull on.
