no it was shocking one of the previous owners could not get his seats in with it so he cut it and welded etc bits in not nice!i might be buying a bolt in cage though nor sure yet.

I almost managed to not comment, but WHY??

you seem to have done a good job on the shell, but then you go put the horrid oversills on it! why? it will only do you one favour. It will make the progressive weight removal system speed up its pace! (read: rust faster)

yer i know gutted i did now but when i started mini i just wanted to get it on the road quick job! now i have spent six months longer on it and 6 thousand more than i wanted!but hey its a first and wont be a last so i think all good practice for my one day pickup!!

at least cut of the lower part of some of the bumps in them so you get some ventilation.

Yep if there is any moisture in there they will rot from the inside out. Regardless of whether is a dry weather only car or not.

Also, if the original sills weren't removed then the over sills will in herit the rot from the originals.

I'll be removing the over sills on my black cluman, then the original sills, then the rest of the rusty bits and working my way back out to some nice new short sills *happy* If you're going to put that much time and effort into a car I would hate to see it rot away just for the sake of 50 quids worth of sills....
