UPDATE
Revamped my nitrous system before MITP and had to totally retune the nitrous kit, just spent a day out with some friends from CRX-UK at Avon park drag racing sunday just gone, a break down

Tool Kit and select spares onboard in the boot [AKA traction aid ]
Nitrous

Aim of the day, to do some nitrous tunning with the revamped Kit not looking for anything special and have fun.

Break down of saturday's running at the Pod for teh saturday night special just gone.

A048 tyres
No tools on board
full tank of fuel

Massive burnouts and I mean massive with the car nearly totally disapearing within the tyre smoke on a couple filled the inside of the car up too had to open the door to let the smoke out as I couldnt see

11.85 @ 118.3 First run straight out the box Missed a gear
11.65 @ 123.5 Got all gears a New Pb
11.54 @ 124.5 Another new PB
11.87 @ 118.3 Missed 4th

Then I went for it two Kits
11.75 @ 106.2 Went into Fourth and the car fell flat on its face, and sounded wrong. imediatly knocked it out of gear and coasted the rest of the way up the track.

Diagonosis at track, was Melted three spark plugs, and no compression on cyl 1 and 3, on a retest cyl 1 showed some compression. Disabled the injector on cyl three and started the car up and drove it on three cyl around the paddock, re test, Cyl 1 now up to 10 bar cyl 3 still 1bar. Packed up the car and drove to the parents on three cylinders. 60-70 miles

Popped the head off on sunday for a quick inspection, first inspection revealed a section of exhaust valve on 3 had been broken away, prob when the debris from the plug being trapped under the seat. A peppered top of piston 1 where the plug debris got hammered between head and piston. further strip down to commence over the winter after a workshop tidy up, and saving up a bit of money.

Funny you should say that Nic, I have had reports of a possible sighting of Air under one of my front wheels during a couple of my runs! Just wonder if anyone caught it on camera!

I'm going to have a spare b16 engine and box out my crx soon when I change to a more tuned one, I must resist the temptation to stick it in the mini.

Slightly blurred but you get the idea of the burnouts


Daily driven well over 1k miles over the last month does 40mpg, gets its teeth kicked in on a regular basis at the track, the last few drag meets its always had nitrous use, and the last two events have been deep into the 11s on a regular basis and never dropped out the 11s this weekend even when it broke, but still got it running well enough to drive home.

I love my car, its getting a winter off this year.

Small Update there is further Damage From the spark plug melting incident. Time for a rebore due to a score on number one where the ring got trapped. and the head is needing some attention to the valve seats from debris damage, including a couple of valves.

No Boost yet, Rebuild as is with a slight tweak to compression possibly, and more nitrous! Got a few chassis developments to implement Too this year.

What wheels are they? they look great.
I love the GTms but there so damn hard to come by. I really want one. Was the engine conversion an easy swap?

The wheels are Compomotive CXRs

The engine conversion was not too bad, it does depend on your skill level It is harder than a fwd mini due to space restrictions. I can fabricate and have some experiance behind me. There were a couple of points during the initial conversion where I thought I was doing the imposible due to physically not getting everything in the engine bay.

you got that frame made up yet??

Gear change has been improved over teh last few months total redesign and now very slick and have not missed a gear yet. was at Pod in april testing the new gearchange on a standard spec engine and managed a 12.90, happy to be back into the 12s without nitrous its been three years since I was there Nasp.

Picking up the Block and crank etc from the engine balancers tomorrow, so might build up the bottom end this weekend.

The replacement upgraded frame has not been touched but its very near the top of the list of things to do.

Planning on having the Engine in for Avon park british mini shootout, will have to see if I can get the time to do the frame as well but think it will be unlikely.
