Done some more, I have to say my spot welder is a very handy tool!

Those photos show why a spot welder is an essential tool for this kind of bodywork.

I fitted my rear valance and rear panel bottom repair panel using plug welds. It was a bitch!

What model of sealey spot welder is it? Did it have any trouble with going through the 3 pieces of metal at the back end there? I am doing the back end on mine soon and am going to get a Spot Welder but dont want to get one and it not be man enough for 3 pieces of metal. |

Its quite an old one, probably 15 years, welding through 3 sheets was no problem, I just turned the timer up a bit.

looking good mate, and the spot welder seems like just the tool for the job. Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

It never occured to me you can get hand-held spotwelders, I have only seen industrial ones for mass production stuff. Cool. |

Borrowed a spot welder over the weekend to do a few jobs on my car, got to say a it makes a world of difference.
