That's about £300 isn't it?

Yes, but because of the value / size package, I expect I'll get stung for import duty, VAT and Parcleforce handling fees, so probably nearer £400 when everyone else has had their take....

I got lucky with the Hypatec pistons from Oz (nothing to pay) but I doubt I'll be lucky twice.

Also, it is in kit form, not finished items but the Oz exchange rate is certainly well in our favour at the moment.

While waiting for the TechEdge stuff to arrive, I got some new USB/serial cables that actully work on my laptop and had a go at starting to configure the logging software to read Megasquirt direct and two TechEdge widebands (I'll put the Innovate one in through Megasquirt initially and play with sample rates later).

The software really is cute, this is just from 15mins playing (real data from Megasquirt on its stimulator).

Basically it can read and log anything that Megatune can but without Megatune running, it just needs to know where the configuration and ini files are for it.

Great stuff.

Can you export the data for Excel?

I don't think it has an "export to Excel" button (but apparently I can have a lot of extra features if I pay $20 to register it !!! ) but it says the data is stored as simple csv files and so Excel should be able to import it straight from the log file.

Just tried it and Excel imports it fine, it's actually logging everything from Megasquirt, not just the fields I chose to display........

Well, my "ParcelForce Worldwide" letter (invoice) arived today......

Didn't think I'd get lucky twice.

Credit card skewed the exchange rate by AU$0.09 (compared to BoE on the day) and aded their own 2.75%
Now add,
£9.95 Import duty
£47.04 VAT
£8.00 Parcelforce fee.

Total cost ~£385 so a bit less than I was expecting (the VAT is a lot lower than I was expecting).

Just need to pay up and pick a day for them to deliver..... and get my soldering iron warmed up !!!

I ordered a JimStim from DIYAutotune the other day.

Cost about £75.

Got my Parcel Farce letter this morning. They want £10.93 VAT and £13.50 Clearance Fee.

That has increased the total cost by over 30% *angry*

It just seems so random....

The VAT doesn't correlate to the value in my case and the ParcelForce fees seem to be whatever they think of at the time.

The Meagasquirt and Innovate stuff I bought at the beginning of the year from DIYAutotune, I paid more VAT than you but a lower clearance fee.......

And I got the Hypatecs for nothing, just arrived with a cheery smile from Mr ParcelForce.....

Looking at the paperwork now it's all here, it seems the reason the VAT was lower than I expected was that TechEdge only put the value of the main bits (controllers/LSUs/displays) on the customs declaration, not all the extra bits or the delivery charges.....
