Going back to the original question is Nitrous road legal, if it is then I say it's reasonable to use it in class D, if not save it for class H. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

Its illegal to use nitrous on the road so its illegal in a road legal class.
I seriously doubt it! |

You have made the all to common mistake of assuming that a MOT means something, when if fact all it means is that the car pasted a series of tests on a certain day, it does not necessarily mean the car is road legal it does not necessarily mean the car is safe. I have looked into this, I said its illegal to USE nitrous on the road, its perfectly OK to have it fitted. Fastcarl, yes there is confusion, British Mini Showdown rules say slicks arent allowed in road classes as theyre not legal on the road, so as nitrous is not legal to use on the road , it shouldnt be allowed in road classes. I cant see why you would want to use nitrous in a road class anyway, class H covers nitrous on the flyer that you get at the gate. I have seen Stu Wrights dad use nitrous in class C though, I would have complained about it but he was 1 1/2 seconds behind me anyway so I didnt bother Paul I seriously doubt it! |

From Trevor Langfields mouth, there is no written law that states its use is illegal if used on a car or any other motorised vehicle, on the public road, and if anyone is ever stopped by plod and told other wise, you are to ask said plod exactly what law you would be breaking, and the argument will end there and then. they may make some bullshit noises about displaying stickers warning of the compressed gas in the car, but this only applies to carriers carrying over a said amount, not applicable to one bottle of nitrous, or any foam filled fire extingusher would get you in bother with old bill, carl |

Trouble is there isn't a road going class for cars with gas. Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph
