No offence but im still not convinced. How will you determine the difference in EGT is not down to the difference of VE.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

I do not agree with your VE theory Sprox.

would the VE on the outer cylinders not be higher due to more effective scavenging of the proper exhaust port? That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system

Do you have one? does it work as well as they say the do? I have bought one. Car isnt up and running yet, so cant comment on if it works. I assume it will do. Cant really see why it wouldnt ?? I see Race technology offer a similar product...for about 3-4 times the price. Im hoping to have my car running again this weekend, so might be able to report back after that. 9.85 @ 145mph

Interesting reading all the old stuff. A lot of the above has been superseded by actual testing.

I couldn't decide which pipe to put it on, so I went for the spot that was closest to the head with the most gas going to it

Dual wideband would give you a lot more useful information and with a supercharger, the installation would be straightforward. |

mega thread revival... 1340 with SC12 supercharger, the EGT probe is in the exhaust below the join of the two outer pipes of the LCB First drive after a rebuild and installing the probe and the cheapie gauge was showing me between 300 and 650 celsius I'll put it on the dyno next week and try to get a bit more scientific data, but I'd like to know, what's a normal range for exhaust temperatures? Engines are engines sooo. On my V8 I monitored one cylinder ( supercharged etc, although dont see EGT's differing much from n/a ) Generally I didnt see much over 800degC according to my EGT probe. How accurate these all are without a DIY means of calibration I dont know. So I set a few safeties so that much over 800degC it would add fuel etc. Now if you were turbocharged and measuring prior to the turbo...I'd expect to see a lot higher than that 9.85 @ 145mph
