I don't usually get much time to work on the car, hence the slow progress. I've usually got plenty of other stuff to do with quite a lot of time spent on the flowbench.
I've been messing with the SC 7 port head for the last 18 months or so and I'm in the process of building a custom manifold for it, all in all an improvement in flow at all lifts with a 3.5% gain at peak.
I also tested an 8 port a few months back for a mate. Makes for interesting time in the workshop.

Phil.

Mounted the battery in a more secure mount, better than the previous FG box. Started tidying up the lines running inside. I've got some nice rubber lined P-clips to finish them off and I need to mount the brake bias to.
With so much cut from the arches for the 14's I wasn't sure I'd get away with 10's, but after a bit of weighing up I think it will be ok as the Miglia arches come down at a much steeper angle it actually hides the wing/wheel gap well.

Sweeeeeeet!!!
Phil, your car is a diamond.

Still no pics of sister though?
I’d doubt she even exists except only three people across multiple countries (Phil: England, Jimbo: Wales, and yours truly: USA) have ever seen her lol

Looking good Phil. Getting on 10’s, I like the idea it’s a evolution of current trends

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Digging through my old photobucket pictures and found this gem. It's one of the first pictures I ever took of it when it was first turbo'd. Circa 1999.

So with Christmas, a house extension and loads of other stuff out the way I’ve finally made a bit more progress.
Brake bias mounted, battery and brake lines secured etc
But the biggest step was removing the 14” wheels and fitting 10’s !! I’m kind of a bit sad to see the 14’s go as they’ve kinda become part of its trademark look, but with 22kg to be saved my mind was swayed !
Onward !

Cheers chaps. In the 22 years I’ve owned it it’s had 10,12,13 and 14” inch wheels fitted at some point. Still loads more to do but my target is Himley Hall in May.

Don’t make me change my mind! I was really torn in swapping the wheels as it is what made the car different from the rest and I will miss that, but I need to improve the handling as it’s a real handful and the overall weight saving was a whopping 22kg.

So long as the yellow intercooler hoses and blue paint stay, it’s instantly recognisable as Phil’s mini !
