Have you actually tried this?

That Peugeot valves looks identical to the MPi one I've got sitting on my desk, except for the plunger, as you point out.

Well, I've bought one.

And guess what - BINGO.

Direct fit, no need to change the plunger over. It's a different shape but looks like it will seal OK at full extension.

The Peugeot one is a 4 pin connector so it should work OK with the MS.

Well done Sprox.

Peugeot one on left, MPi in middle and housing on right.

Top man!

I'd still swap over the plunger though, it should just pull out.

Make sure the lead screw is the same pitch though, othewise you will have to leave as is.

Nothings pulling out without dismantling the motors.

Anyway, I dont think there is any need. The OD of the valve plunger is the same. The taper is different and that may affect the flow/movement characteristic.

However, MS allows you to tune how it operates, so as long as you take shorter steps it should be OK.

Anyway time will tell.

I am resisting jumping in on that forum. Before MS came along I was dabbling with those GM units. Had full code for them. Cheap and powerful, but a bit of a pig to program, so on the shelf they sit. In some respects the DIS module is easier to work with than EDIS, but they were not used in large numbers on UK cars.

As per the wiring diagram, I even checked to make sure I hadnt crossed the coils...................unless one is running one way and one the other.

Actually, no it cant be doing that cos I checked the resistances to the connector on the ECU *frown*

I can now get it to twitch when in use, but how much movement should I see with one of these things??? Is it really just the smallest of movements or have i got one of my settings wrong????

Well done Sprox.

Are you still using the standard 5 pin MPi connector?

Did you cut the connection to the winding centre as previously discussed?

After a long wait, I can now conform that the IACV pictured above works with the MS2.

I'm pretty sure that most petrol Peugeots use the same IACV.

I've been hooking up all the sensors to the MS2 ready for a trial run on the fuel injection.

Anyway, it opened on cold start and went through about 150 steps up to 60 degrees C to almost close it. I think that the default 160 steps from open to fully closed is about right.

I also managed to fit the pintle from the MPi valve.
