What have you done with the breather? Just vented it under the car or something?

Yea, crankcase and rocker cover breathers vent straight to atmosphere under the car. Although the rocker cover one has some wire wool in to stop larger oil drops getting through.

Not updated this for a while as I haven't really touched it except driving it whenever its dry.

I've made a start on my turbo engine.

Tapped all the waterways for dry deck.

Block machined for oil jets.

Jets test fitted.

Block/box threads out to 5/16th.

Very nice. What sort of specification engine are you going for?

Cheers.

1293, avonbar ph2, gt17, Matty mani, nice big head, dished out pistons, cam belt kit, megajolt, pretty standard crank, some home worked innocenti rods, RTS clutch, SC st box, Med drop gears, x pin diff etc.

I haven't worked out the exact compression ratio but it should be capable of close to 20psi should I fancy it.

Another small update.

Drilled for 11 stud, nerve racking on the pillar drill!

Dry deck bits done.

Mocked up, need to rotate cool side, mod actuator and chop bit of the hot side.

Possibly a T25. Is the inlet pipe bolt on or banded?

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Pretty sure thats a T25

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

It's not stamped anywhere on it. The inlet side is bolt on. The exhaust flange is circular.

turbo is a
saab 9.3
year 2000
engine B204
bhp 190
TB2569
452068-0003

johhny, same turbo i put on my 1.4 astra.

with a 275 degree cam , it makes 5 psi at 2600 ,and 13 psi at 3200 i think it was .

heres the power and torque on 10 psi at above 5000 and around 7 psi in the mid range ....,

bear in mind ,this is running lpg , so numbers should be 5 to 10% higher on petrol.

its a good turbo , not as responsive as the 17 , but more top end i'd say . *smiley*

robert

I'm going to say it but are the bolts on your mains strap 3 dash?

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Thank you Robert! Not the turbo I was after really. I've sourced a gt17 just need to wait for the seller to come over to england.

That info should help me sell it on. :).

What do you mean?

They a bit shit? They came on the short motor when I bought it. I'll split it again if I'm likely to break them.

They are 3 dash. Lowest grade of bolt to still be considered high tensile.

I'd swap them for something stronger. There's a thread on here with pics of these stretching when being torqued up.

Yeh, Your originals are 6 dash which is more like a 10.9 in metric measurement. 3 dash is closer to an 8.8. Id say you want them to be as good as or better then the originals!

whats wrong with a t25? since i was planning on sourcing one. or would it be to eummm "lazy?" on a 1293?

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

finish date set for project 1... march 2018

Thanks guys, i better strip it down again then! One question though, why would they supply a CMS with them if they aren't up to the job?

Not lazy at the top end, but i'd like a bit more all round.
