You'll have to tie the horses to the car, if they mysteriously run off like that! :S

Preston On The Brook

I had 100lbf on the 1400 with an Orange diaphragm without slipage on the same dyno that Matty found out his was slipping. I used the exact same clutch on the 16 valver with 50hp straight hit nitrous so 100lft+.

The grey diaphragm should be more than up to the job, but only when set up correctly in the first instance, which I'd like to think KAD would know how to do.

17hp losses for the drive train is good, but about 3 or 4 hp less than most. 17hp is roughly the losses of the transmission without the tyres in the equasion on a Dynapac dyno, but full on drivetrain losses or roller dynos with different tyres on various cars with various gear cut combinations work out at about 21 to 28hp, you just have to look at the various dyno shootouts over the last couple of years on the forum.

A low losses figure could be an indication that the final figure flywheel figure might also be low?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

In my experience Peters rolling road normally reads 10% to high. My 1380 Race engine showed 128bhp ATW, but was engine dyno at Swiftune at 129bhp at Flywheel. Peter has recently had a firmware update and I believe figures are now quite accurate. Ill Pm you my mob number mate, as im interested in how the day went.

Just doing a bit of research into them. Fuel injection is next. Should've done it in the first place.

Bit of an update, one of the floating gaskets was perished on the webers so it wasnt idling properly on number 2 cylinder, so at the moment im waiting on that.

Was at donnington yesterday with my mates Gartrac mk3 escort, his wasnt running well either hes getting quite a bit of misfire.

Meanwhile ive been doing little bits and bobs, heres my pedals with a new accelerator plate.

Got some new misab gaskets on today, seems to be running on the idle circuit again on the carbs.

But now there seems to be a huge flat spot.

All weve done is take the carbs off and put them back on again. Im wondering if it is due to the rolling road session where the Main jets and air correctors were soldered and drilled smaller to get better fueling but it was only idling on 3 cylinders at the time.

Ive brought new Jets and Air correctors the same size as were in to start off with so we can start fresh again.

Also bought a new clutch arm. Im meant to be having a track afternoon on saturday at Curbourough.

Ahh it looks really nice. Its a shame you didn't take off the sound deadening before getting it painted, you could save a few kgs easily there.

Found out last night that i had a dodgey Slave cylinder, so this morning ive been to min-its to get a new one and a new release bearing. Ive also fitted the new arm, with no spring. Its x100 better than before.

been up to the sprint track this afternoon had a couple of blast round, it definitely needs re setting up now. See what friday brings.
