Could you not have one that clips on with some little bonnet pins of some sort? Use some of them draught excluders on the edges? Or a sliding clear plastic thing on runners?

I was thinking of moulding something into mine give the air filter a bit of cool air but I don't want it to look shit lol

Does it fit on trailer brett?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

John dunno mate *happy*
Jt ive kept it as tight as i could but ideally it needs 2fans or another custom ally rad the grill will fit on but stepped out slightly with a small starter the dizzy removed and a jap alt the fans should go down back of the rad and grill on the front

john it should fit mate its deceptive how wide it it there is over an inch removed from the inner edge of the arch both sides

kenny go for it mate make sure it clears the rocker cover mine has a sloped metty one on now

temps are measured in the top hose just before it goes into the rad

just loading it up at 8:30 this evening ready for the morning, thought id give it a bit of stick up the private road known as my drive,
i got it nice and warm, dipped the clutch grabbed a gear just as i lifted the clutch fed in a little power, zzziiippp zzziiippp,... Fuck!!!! there was most the family out there watching omg he smashed a gear my dad said :( naahh i thought its too clunky on the clutch it feels like the flywheel is spinning on the crank .... shit mitp over before i hit the trailer
20 mins of frantic thinking, pulling about trying to figure out what id done since i last drove it, solid top engine mount thats it... balls i remember pushing the engine forward half inch with it, i looked down the back thinking about a couple recent threads, pot joints i thought yep, id shit the drivers side id assembled the cage and balls from the wrong side, luckily i had a few spare parts, 9pm this eve i set on stripping it down, just got in now, done a full strip down from inner pot joint to hub both sides, reversed the cadges replacing the damaged one, hey presto

bring on mitp :)

quick mitp summary..
car went well on 2+ bar untill 3rd gear when it didnt go too well..
couldnt get the boost down, eneded up with a hairs amount of preload one and holding a good 1 bar ish
only managed 7/8 runs due to the (im gonna guess at this) 28psi boost in the first 2, i did compression tests between each run, eneded up pulling 10degrees advance across most of the map
my 5th run saw me beat a TT6 manual supra, with i think a 14.5 run( typicaly i dont have this slip)
my 7th i got chatting to a few lads with binnis so i held back to run agains him, he said hes running around 212bhp, and 15s quarter, i beat him by a good second at 14.6 (with slip)
as i backed off on the line it ran like a complete bag of shite, sounded like something was smashing onto something else i shut it off and roled off the strip, a kind passer b had a tow rope and pulled me back to the pits,
expecting a bent or dropped valve the first ting i did was pull off the rocker cover where coupe found that on no4cyl inlet had a rocker clearance of about a thumb (very technical) the nut had stayed on and the whole lot had unwound!! re set it nipped them all up abit more and it almost fired up ( less the now totaly dead starter motor)
a quick bump start and it was off
sorted lucky escape, decided not to run again and to end it on a bit of good luck so i packed up...
...
...
thats where the good luck stopped im afraid, robert your very lucky man i can tell you that, i let a couple minis out of the camping area less than 30s later i tryed to mount the bloody thing,
i lifted my foot of the clutch before fully getting neutral, car jumped forword so i stamped on the brake ( bearing in mind id only driven the mini all weekend) i managed to floor it :'( whacked the arse of this poor mini as i hit the brakes the trailer i was pulling said nahhh keep going... yeh his mini was not happy my first at fault accident and its the stupidest thing you could imagine at least it was not roberts back door i smashed in lol

soo i gets home fires the laptop up... literature it fired up with a bang and lots of smoke there is now a black mess where the voltage regulators had been.. as random as owt i have a spare main board, so im half in the middle of swapping that out, when as usual TM distracted me
i appear to have fooked the battery on it too
loverly.....

well today using Joe C's method of finding tdc i well...er found tdc *tongue* and it was 4degrees earlier than i had marked up ( i measured 9deg last time) and using some sort of logic i worked out i had dialled in the 9degree offset the wrong way making my spark 13 degrees earlyer ( i think) than my ignition map states

meh this hurts my head
basically i measuerd my crank sensor bracket to be 9 deg out but its only 5 degrees out because of the error on my tdc (4deg) plus the fact i dialed the bracket offset in at 81deg btdc it should have bin 99 deg
hmm i think ive been running 13degrees more advance than i though witch would part explain the det at 12psi and 24deg advance (24 +13 =37 *Punch* )
i did pull 10 degrees over the weekend so i must have been running approx 27degrees advance at 1bar ( no audible det) imo i have plenty of head room for more boost :)

would also explain the kicking back and popping on start up ( maybe the 3 burnt out starters too) 23 degrees cranking advance *tongue*

yes i am fooking gobsmaked its still togeather..

and due to the fantastic-ness of the interweb here is that 14.6s run *happy*
