At MITP?

patience, patience.lol - no it'll not be at MITP this year, as the 7 port is on the road now - wow a taxed and tested mini owned by me is a rare thing!!! I'll be getting back into the gold one very soon

Sprock - yes its a bit of a squeeze with a 2.25 inch down pipe in there - it may be 2.5 inch - memory fails, hehe!

once major decision though is to put it on the engine dyno rather than rolling road it - that way we can control all the parameters in comfort without poor Simon having to try and drive it at the same time.

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

25th Jan 2008 - crikey thats a long time ago. Anyway as this story is nearing an end and the thread is funny - all my own doing and the mickey taking is justified, I've broken the bogey and eventually got my sorry backside in gear and bolted Goldies engine on the bed of truth - the Schenk engine dyno on 13/4/11 . All the hastle has been worth it as the engines a dream - exactly as designed. We ran her pretty hard but by no means on the edge - I don't want to break anything just for the sake of a few extra numbers, its more than hardcore as it is now - if someone wants to pay me to make a duplicate and really push it I'm fine with that!

At the minute all I'll say is it reached the goal I set it at sensible boost on pump gas - no NOS and it was still climbing hard when I called a day on the revs we ran at. And most importantly its as fit now as when It was bolted on. On the track/road, rolling road I'll use more revs as it won't be sitting there for 15 seconds whilst the torque readings stabilise!

just have to get the driver into shape now - may take another 3 years.lol!

Simons going to pop a couple of short vids on facebook/website soon

cheers Simon - John you beat me too it - I wish it had the torque of that motor, with suitable gearbox on it.lol!

she does had a flat torque curve though over a 3500rpm+range, I say flat it actually increases at higher revs - the power curve is a straight line once on boost, as mentioned earlier it hadn't peaked when we decided the revs were enough and the torque hadn't dropped off.

its very different to the 16 turbos which are out there.

According to the artical about it the cam is designed for 4500-9000 rpm so i think limit will be 92-9500 if not higher
