got everything re-fitted tonight, was a small amount of pitting round where the seats have been recut, whether these will cause any leaky issues i've no idea untill i've given it a proper run.

ventured out a bit further tonight after swapping the manifold gasket, temp stays as it should, didn't lose any water either and the header tank didnt look like it was about to pop.
