Well after 4 gear boxes and no joy, Andy came to the rescue.

So two days work on it and the results are good so far! I have some more work to do on it before it's done but I am happy with it so far *smiley*

Thanks simon.

Awesome saving mate, you'll be needing to strap the mini down to stop it floating away soon!

No Dave, this is a all new case. As I don't plan to strip the box that's on the car just for the case. As this time around I am going to retire the JK box.

When I start the rebuild I will weigh all the parts and run a list, as I am looking at remaking a lot of parts this time. So it should give a true ish weight of the car.

Well it's up date time lol.

I can't get photo bucket to work very well *oh well*

So I have been doing lots of stuff todo with the rebuild and trying to improve little bits as I go, and also lose more weight as and where I can 😄 So here's some pics of bits I am happy to show at the min 😜

First up was a bit of a tool upgrade, I got a welder about 6 months ago and I had not even seen if it worked, I used It for a day and worked out what was worng with it, so I got to work on it.

First up was to sort out the earth wire, the one on there was around 4 ft long. So I swapped it for a 3m removable one *smiley*

Next up was the bent wheels on the back, it was just doing my head in looking at it, sooooooo

Ok car stuff, I been giving my self an hr night or so to make small bits here and there,

Next up was the steering colum, as the one I had had lots of play in it and it used to bug me, so I was thinking of ways to sort this sooooo I had a dig around in the lockup, to see what I had down there, and the only mk1 column I had was very dented from over clamping soo

A little bit of heat

I made a knocking block and slide it down to where the dent was and tapped it with a hammer, and got all the dents out, then I chopped the top off a 2nd one I had so now I have one with a bush at both ends, so no play 😊.. And still looks ok ish..

Somting that has been playing on my mind for a wile (sad I know) was the seat belts I was thinking that there was just two much shit on them, buckles Backed up with buckles. So I went to a place down the road from me, that has some of the staff from Britax still working there, they was super helpful finding what was the lightest way to go.

From that to this

Also I had some bits remade in Ti but I am sure most have seen them lol.

Also I went to auto sport and seen a pic of brett at uni

Sorry there has not been many updates lately, this flesh eating disease I picked up in Kenya has been kicking the shit out of me! As its been infecting my white blood cells, lungs, jonts , bones, and leaving big holes in my skin! And is just making me feel super week, So I have zero fucks to give the mk1 at the min!

I would post some pics but it's not the sort of thing most would like to see...

All being well it's going to the coach builder at the start of April so stuff should start moving fast from there.

Simon.
