Lots has happen to the mk1 in the last weeks, I was away so the Internetwas on hand to keep me occupied, so I got back to lots of bits ready for the shell. As for the shell well lots has been chopped from it!

A new seat bace with now filler needed

As most of the back end was to cock the discussion was taken to get a full floor to make sure the new panels were aligned right.

I was happy how these turned out *smiley*

Just came to my mind about this...

I read an article of old american muscle cars few year back.
Back in the 70's, Nascar racecars were completely stock on the body side, it needed to be same material and shape as model that was available for the public. I can not remember which manufacturer it was, but they used acid dip to get thickness out of body panels all around to make it lighter. Competitors noticed that this one brand got more damage on collision than any other, so they made a complaint and after investigation they got busted of breaking the regulations.

75' Mini special deluxe.
1275 A+ engine with turbo on the way...

so a bit of a big up date to end the year off sort of.

So I sent the mk1 off to get worked on, after the body work was started the bloke that was doing it went off long term sick, so I was left with 1/2 a shell, on wards and up wards I have someone who is going to do the work on the mk1 and I am very excited to see how it is going to turn out!

This year has been a very busy one! Work wise as Jo reminded me last week that I have been away 213 days this year, Falklands, Brunei, Malaysia, Kenya 2 times, New Zealand....

This was my last work trip more play than work 😜😜😜 14 days of fun in the sun!

So anyway I got in the man cave and got sorting the pile of car bits and so I can get the mk1 back in one piece as soon as I can get the shell back ASAP!

I had these on my todo list for some time but I am super happy with them!

I got all this cleaned up and made sure it's all good to back on.

Some mig shafts that I have had hanging about

Some more cake to fit this time around.

A box of bits that's been sat all over the place

New rebuilt turbo good to go,

Some more to come tomorrow 😄

Yesterday's progress was ok, got a bot more done on the up hill task of the mk1.

I left all the bolts and nuts from the car -the engine in thinners over night so I could give them a good clean. And see what's what.

They all came out ok and after a little over most will go back on the car.

Then I got working on something that's been in my mind for a wile now. So what better way to get something out of our mind then to give it a go.

So this is where I want the denso to sit, I had it almost there with my last one, when I remade the blanking plate. But I made the last one on the fly.

So then I sat with some brain food (which helped with the cad)

Next it was over to the alloy for fine tunning before I go to Ti for the Finnished job.

To I did nothing as I was soooooooo hung over so I sorted out the last of the bits I will be getting remade in Ti at the end of this month.

Next on the list was to sit and look at steering wheels, and removed bosses it's a mine filed *oh well* from what I have seen.....
