800s a bit steap... theres a place down the road from me thats blasted a couple minis successfully (he leaves the roof) and primers them for £150 if they aint caked in paint and shite

When we done mine, we stripped it to a bare shell and had it blasted for £150. Came back looking more like a siv! Was my friend who sorted it all though, so could have been mates rates.

The bloke i was chatting to was looking £800, I am happy to do it anyway and i am not relaying on anyone.

Today has been a good day on the mk1 really, so I got the inside of the boot done and back to the steel, so it looks like the MK1 was Red then Green then blue and last smoke Grey.

Also I was boxing all the stuff up that came off the car, as I don't have much space at best of times, before the messy stuff really starts.

Well there should not be any nasties that I don't know about, but there is some stuff that i want to put right.

1. Replace both rear 1/4 as there is lots of filler in them.
2.front scuttle swaped as the ends are full of filler.
3. swap the wings.

thats the list for now,

Today was a better day and i feel like I got some stuff sorted,

The full shell is stripped of all the bits and bobs, all the old bolt holes are marked for what needs welded up,

then i got working on the back end as I had a feeling that there would be some s++t to deal with in there, so I got digging the plan is to fit an alloy floor anyway, so this is what I found.

lots of old bits of steel over lapped and patched up,

more patches

as i thought I had two floors in places, it looks like most of the rot was cut out then 1/2 a need one was set in, then seam welded and filled

so the scrap bin started to fill up as i chopped more off the car.

this is where I am at tonight.

I had thought about it today and if its worth doing its worth doing right! so as I am swapping the rear 1/4s I have ordered 2 new rear inner arches, as mine are both chopped up over the years and just don't look nice at all. so they will be fitted all at the same time.

He must of had a fine art of filling.. is it the colouring or has the bare metal already started to rust?
