Smiths didn't have it, but surprisingly the local newsagent/off license did!

Just read it now, notice how you still haven't given away what turbo you're using. Thought the article might have given it away.

Thanks lads,

Well, it's sort of time for the mk1 PH3, this has been in the planning since last year so as to make sure I have all the bits and then when the ball starts rolling it don't stop and there is no change of plan or any more bright ideas!!

It's been said lots of times to me that the mk1 should be lighter with all the work that I have been doing on it! so it got me thinking "that's normally dangerous!!"

So I have been stock piling bits and bobs for a lighter faster mk1 and it's been almost 6 years now that the mk1 has been bashed about and it's picked up lots of little bodges all over the shell from years gone by. So it's been bugging me thats it's not been right!! so next step was, who is going to do the work? I am away a lot this year with work, as Jo reminded me last week, I will be away around 240 days this year :-0 it had to be someone I trust to carry out the work as I want it! So 4 days ago, I got chatting to a very good mate of mine, Alex Lee at ( http://smofweybridge.com/Services.html ) and a plan was hatched with a time line for getting the list of work done that I have in my head. The deadline is Christmas for after I get back so I can rebuild it when I have some time off.

So as of monday I will start pulling it apart!! and sand it right back so I can see how much metal I really have and how much filler I have as I am thinking there is a lot.

I will not give a full list of the plans at the min and I will keep this up to date as and when I can *smiley* but what I will say is some elements are very controversial to some BUT it's my CAR and it's part of my life and always will be, so why not make it what I want it to be. It seems to have worked so far with lots of help from you boys!! (I only came on here to find out about Jap alternators, now look where it's ended up!!)

Regards Simon.

I'm one for doing what you want with your own car. Life's too short for not doing what you want.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
