These gearbox mounts, did they come with the poly bushes? I was looking on minispeeds website but they look as if they come with standard rubber ones

Swansea boyo!

Sweet photo! It's a shame the weather wasn't good for you, Sunday was a lot better! Always nice to see you and Jo even if I was driving home thinking of bits to take off my car haha.
I'm almost sure I read earlier that the minisport cooper s wheels are only 2.5kg but they look odd from the ones I've seen, the holes aren't in the right place! Have a safe trip too!

They don't die, they just get faster!

What a weekend!!!

It all started with Friday ending up being a last min.Com affair as always, so all I did was drag the mk1 out, drain the tank of its old fuel and stuck some fresh back in. On loading the trailer, as it was raining I was rushing and the next thing I know I did this!

So at 20:00 at night I got finished bashing it back in to shape, sort of!

So bed at around 01:30 then back up at 06:00 to drive to Pod for the rwyb *smiley* very good day with around 30 cars *smiley* so lots of runs was had, I used this time to get used to driving the car and as I had Nikki Lauder (AKA Oli) we started playing with the setup of it and doing back to back runs.

But on the last run of the day there was a load cracking sound at around 90mph but I just kept pushing only to find at the end corner, that the steering tube had broke away from the roll bar! Some texts later and a plan was cracked to fix it with the help of Chris Dillow (I owe you a big beer) you can see the welds broke in the sleeved nut had broke.

Sunday,

Chris turned up and we fixed the car and it was track time!! mega day learnt a lot today about the mini! And Chris and Paul was helping me with feedback on each run, so I could try and get the most/best out of the mk1! I set a new PB today at 13.0 so I am very happy!!

So what's next I got some new rubbers so I think they will help with putting the power down better.

We did not see Andy much this weekend as he was always hanging around "The UKs most action packed venue!"
Some said,," he had the shits!" Some said,," he's gone all George Michael" no one knows :-0.

Also a big think you to everyone that helped me today and yesterday, and everyone that said hi! So I could not chat for long, but I really wanted to get a better time!

Thanks simon.

Gongrats to you simon..

1- for your new pb
And 2- for getting the most runs for your money! You had quite a bit of commentary about you over the megaphone n it was funny watching the last bit of rwyb sun cos you kept appearing on the start line as fast as you were disapearing.. people in the stands were like 'again... that poor mini' lol

And you got a trophy for it too! Well.. u will in the post? Haha

Thank you lads, and Robert you need to up your A game lol, but I think I was just lucky that some of the better cars was not running this year.

I need to pull my finger out and see if I can make the car better and get the thing running right, or learn to drive it better! and not just give it the beans!!

yes definately a 12.7 in there with that terminal speed.*smiley* you must work out your fastest sectors and add them together simon ,see what the car can do.

Gread build thread Simon - I love the `standard` look you have gone for. I have picked up a few ideas to save some more weight too so thanks for that! My buddy watching said your car was super quick on Sunday.
...and congratulations on your new PB! *Clapping*
