Just a few pics of the car as it is now.

Next job is to MOT it, and then to paint the frontend.

Urgh. Thwarted.

I noticed that both track rod ends were shot, so bought two and as I finished fitting, I started re-fitting the wheels and noticed that the top balljoints are fubar too - I think I may be able to remove a shim to get it MOT worthy, but I can't find my stupid balljoint socket anywhere.

So; another job for tomorrow. Buy new balljoints and/or a hooge socket.

Cancelled Monday's MOT so I can give the car a better once over beforehand.

So, the car is now sitting in bits, as normal. Ha.

Those track rod ends don't exactly look old. Same thing happened to my new knuckle joints.

Yeah but for the sake of £15 I'm not going to argue with a MOT chap.

TBH they look worse in real life, I think the photo was flattering them a bit.

Track rod end boots are shocking quality.

Got some new ones on my build and after 16 months in the garage they are beginning to crack.

Popped over to Ric's place yesterdasy and pinched a ball joint kit and huge socket (thanks mate!) so the car is now back on it's wheels and I think ready for the MOT. I'll re-book it in the morning.

I quite like it - sort of rough and ready at the moment.

Wahey - went straight through the MOT.

Found a bit of rust, but nothing structural so still a pass.

I suppose the next job is a bit more paint and then turbo.

Heh. Failed the MOT today on steering rack gators, and rear brake imbalance.

Neither is a big problem, but I was going to take the car to bits soon anyway to fix a few other issues, so I guess I'll start on that and fix the other things at the same time.

Would it not be worth just sorting the bits and getting the mot now?

I'm too skint at the moment (meaning I have a racecar that needs a lot of parts) so I wasn't planning on starting for a month or so!

I will check the prices though, if they are super cheap I may do it, you're right. Makes more sense.

At least with the mot, you can road test as you go now

Just getting it ready for the MOT, and the clutch has started slipping again. Will sort that and then may start properly tinkering now my racing has stopped.
