Another photo dump. Only real thing of note is the floor was annoying to fit, but after fiddling the subframes are now nicely in line.

I decided to bin the old rear bulkhead as it was scruffy and bent after I'd tried to fix it, badly.

Photos in some-what chronological order..

(Floor turned out to be too thin, so had to modify a little.)

Once you've put the full boot floor in it makes you wonder why you arsed about with patches before.

Another quick photo dump. Progress has slowed because it's too fucking cold in the garage in January, and I hurt my back again mid month so had to take a break.

Welded the front of the floor in, then started investigating the front end / scuttle and it turned out to be gross. I also bought some repair panels for the inner wings but they were a shit fit, and I wasn't happy adding more bodges to the existing bodges so they've come out.

I'm not happy with the bulkhead as it's thin/grotty but I've run out of spare pennies so it'll have to stay I think.

Always scary what you find when you dig into things. Looking nice and solid now.

Diesel heater is a good idea for a cold garage, I have fitted one to my shed. Chinese copies on eBay significantly cheaper than German originals

Another photo dump.

A posts, inner wings, scuttle, lower dash rail + parcel shelf thing.

Had to do the driver-side a-post twice as the first time I welded the post in to a marking that I'd made incorrectly - bugger! Luckily found a genuine new a-post locally for not much cash so I was able to cut out the magnum one and fit that instead (and correctly).

Bit more. Struggled with the doors - they fit nicely without the rubbers but with the rubbers in they wouldn't shut properly - but all sorted now. Still lots left to do but it's back to being mini shaped and that feels like a big step!

Another photo dump - sorry for the lack of frequency of updates.

Essentially this is the "roll cage" update. Which is a huge saga. I decided to go for a Custom Cages cage instead of the OTT (for road) Safety Devices cage.. and the CC one turned out to be shit. It didn't fit without a lot of faff, they sent the wrong foot places (twice), and it was generally just sub-pa. Looks nice now it's fitted but I wouldn't recommend it over an SD cage to anyone.

Once it was in, I added a dash bar and removable rear bins. Next job is to move onto making side-mount-mounts for the seats and working out where I'm going to run the fuel lines etc.

Then I am going to have a meltdown as it's bodywork time and I'm really worried it's going to be awful - this is going to be a lot harder to prep than a Lotus!

Yea a bit. Sort of stalled as I wasn't going to make the retro gathering thing, and I've run out of £.. and I got a bit bored of spending all my time in the garage

I made some seat mounts, and checked the seats fit. I added a bracket from the steering column to the dash bar as I've always hated the slight play in a mini steering rack. I welded up the extra fuel tank hole. I also added a channel into the bulkhead for fuel lines

I also got bored when the weather got wet for a bit, and decided that I wasn't happy with the way the standard clocks mount. First I made some nice little mounts.. and then I decided I hated the standard clocks and how they sit awkwardly with the bulkhead box, so made an entire binicle thing.

I then started stripping the remaining paint off, and flatting the panels back to get it ready for primer - which is a horrible task.

Oh and I got a good deal on a little set of GB minilites, though I think I am going to go for steelies as I dont want to run arches.

So; some progress but not much.
