Thanks. The lights are from a MK2 escort and the grille is from a Triumph 2000. They make it look a little different, so they are staying *wink*

During the week I did the repair I'd actually taken the A Panel of to do and stuck another new A Panel on.

Today I've cracked on and got the new rear arch fitted.

Think I need to work on the panel gap with the rear quarter *hehe!*

Nope *smiley* I need it to go over speed humps, so it won't be going that low.

Nice work!

Are you going for a complete boot floor, or just the repair section?

Thanks.

Just the rear repair section, again....

The rest of it isn't bad, it's just a little stressed from being hit up the rear.

Yep and a whole rear panel. I'll be deleting the battery box too.

It's had a bang up the back over towards the drivers side at some point. The boot floor, rear arch quarter and arch closing panel where all twisted. I reckon it was all about 1/8" back from where it should be. The biggish bit I cut out of the boot floor between the box and arch was twisted and rotten too. I'd patched all this up previously, but it wasn't good enough so of it comes again.

I wasn't happy with my previous attempt at repairing the boot floor. So I've chopped it off and done it again.

It looks like the repair panel hadn't been cut straight. I had to chop about an inch of the passenger side arch joint and add some to the drivers side.

Just got the seem welded and ran out of Gas. BOC obviously think that people don't need gas at the weekend, so no more welding until I get another cylinder during the week (rushing home from work as they close at 5).

So I chopped the battery box if. It was too heavy.

Also are you keeping the battery in the boot or behind your seats somewhere?

I put the tank in and lined it up by eye. I also had another bracket with a good chunk of floor and valance closing panel attached.

I'm going to make a bracket for a gel battery close to the drivers side rear arch.

I only put the drivers side on, it's a heritage one from minispares. Not cheep but I'm weary of complex pattern panels. Needed a few clamps to line it up to the boot floor lip but the fit seems OK. I've hacked out half the quarter and boot floor. Time will tell how well I've fitted it/it fits when I put the new quarter on in a couple of weeks.

Just tried the fuel tank in and it doesn't quite clear the bracket by a couple mm. Fortunately there is about half an inch of extra metal at the top that can be removed so it should clear OK.

Got the new drivers side rear quarter ready to be welded on.

One of the Panel gaps leaves a little to be desired.

Hopefully my new MIG will be here this week and I can get it hot glued on.

As the new rear quarter matches the original rear section, it looks like your wheel arch (inner) repair section is the problem one...

Can it not be rotated clockwise a bit ???

It's a deceptive pic Rod. The bottom left corner has a fold in the metal below the bottom bit. That was in line with the rear panel. The rest of the panel fits well (for a pattern one), so I've adjusted it so it fits like it should. It had been folded about a 1/4" too high. There was about 3/4" of metal stuck out from the fold...

The gap is like this now, just needs a bit of final fettle.

Looks a lot better to the inner arch but how is it to the rear panel ???

You're hiding that with the mole grips :)

It's fine *wink*

Don't forget that the bottom seam on the rear panel isn't parallel to the boot floor. Both run at a small angle until they are welded. The real test is when I fit the rear panel. It's a genuine NOS one. It's at least 10 years old, probably closer to 20, so it should fit better than the modern heritage ones.

Getting there, hoping to get the shell done this year. Just got the rear subby reinforcement bits to fit, tidy up the boot repairs, driver's sill and the grot underneath it, other rear quarter and the back panel. Then I can get the hole cutters and swagers out *smiley*
