Ah its a painfully slow process trying to get it to fit right! *oh well*

Just trying to decide whether to drill some 'speed holes' in my new bonnet?

Nic, are these the ones you've used?

Unfortunately ive made bugger all progress with it. *oh well*

The backlight is permanantly on, and is wired into the ignition (makes it easier to read). Im still trying to work out how to get the rev counter working, and need to make a trigger wheel up for the speedo...lame I know!

Matty, I have just tested out the GSXR clocks I am going to use and the tacho has a 5v pull up within itself, so to get it working with the ECU, all thats needed is to connect it to a free output (that does not have a volt pull up) and then configure the output.

The speedo is much the same, using a magnetic proximity hall sensor there is a 12v +ve and ground, with the signal having a 5v pull up within the speedo head already. its a simple matter of connecting the correct type sensor and setting up a toothed trigger wheel on the pot joint or however you want to do this. I calculated from the GSXR bikes final drive and scaled for wheel size the number of teeth required to make the speedo read some where near right, and I worked that out to be 8 teeth on the driven wheel.

I don't think I will be able to get the fuel level working with the mini sender, but I havent looked that much into that yet. I will have to put up with the 'check' being illuminated as I think the coolant temp and 'FI' warning are a digital signal from the ECU. Everything else seems to work :)

Some more progress on this...The main reason is to save weight, but the rear subframe and boot floor were starting to look a little rusty, so a full rear end resto *hehe!* was in order.

* The plans are to fit a beam
* Relocate battery to behind pasenger seat (or maybe further forward)
*Both radius arms have been lightened (cheers Longy)
* rear valance chopped off
* Aluminuim diffuser fitted
* Aluminium rear section of exhaust
* Mini fins
* And a few other weight saving ideas :)

Off came the battery box.

Then off came the valance...

Both of the corners in the boot were rotten, so chopped them out! *happy*
There was a fair amount of weight chopped out, due to the rear subframe rear mount reinforcements.

All holes are now had repair panels welded in and battery box plated over, will try and take some pics tomorrow. Im hoping for some warmish weather so I can get some paint on and slap it back together. Not looking good at this rate!

We ground the lugs off that the hi-low sits in, its quite a chunk of metal, but thats all soo far. lol When I get a bit of time i'll make some new ones.

I did think about it, but I didn't have enough metal to do the whole floor, and I was a bit over keen to get it done. *hehe!*

I failed to take any progress pics today aswell.

Well today I managed to get some paint on it as the weather has finally warmed up!

This is my first attempt at spraying...I had a quick 5min crash course from Nic on how to mix the paint, and these are the results. *happy*
