A bit more progress...

Only a few more things to do now before it can go in.

Set the cam timing
fit turbo gasket
weld outlet pipe to waterpump plate
Bolt up pulleys
Fit oil return

Shouldn't be too long before it can be fitted now! *tongue*

so, are you going to be running bike carbs, throttle bodies or a single tb.

Im running the original TB's, it would save space using a single TB but I'll see how it works out with these ones first the go from there. *oh well*

Good work Mate, I'm excited about seeing this running.

Ric, I'm sure Matty is using the ITB rather than a single. Have a look at the previous posts.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

great stuff,

whats happening with the oil feed?

looks like a feed to the turbo and then to the head?

Instead of running the oil feed through the block to the head im running an external feed.

Its just an oil feed for a T3 with an another oil feed routed to the turbo.

Ah, yes thats what i meant,

I dont think i like the idea of running oil up from the block to a K head as I heard that the groove in the cam gives a pulsed oil feed to the rockers on the A series, I can't see this being great for 2 cams.

1st to provide proof of a running Bimmy Conversion!

Brisbane ,Australia

For the oil feed "through" the original path in the mini block to feed the Bimmer head, all that`s needed is a groove in the front cam bearing between the 2 holes, & then just bung up the oribinal Bimmer oil feed hole in the head & re-drill on an angle to meet up with the mini oil hole in the top of the block,,, no more pulses , just constant plentiful oil pressure to the head.

There`s nothing wrong with an external oil hose tho,,, either way is fine, just that re-drilling the head & making the groove in the cam bearing doesn`t cost anything but a little time.

looking good tho Matty

Cheers guys.

The outlet will be positioned between the left side of the pulley tensioner and the top left bolt on the plate.

There is just enough room for a pipe to squeeze in!

lol. I know what you mean about the picture quality...most of the pics are taken in a poorly lit garage in the evening and my phone doesn't have a flash. *oh well* I'll try to get some better quality ones next time. *wink*

nice work there!!

Which belt tensioner did you go for in the end?

Lol...that was a right pain, I ordered the Mx5 one after speaking to 2 people at the same company and getting them both to measure it. They both told me it was easily wide enough for a 26mm belt. Pulley tensioner arrived 25mm wide...not happy!!

Took the pulley tensioner to my local car spares supplier and told them I wanted exactly the same pulley tensioner but with a wider tensioner wheel...they were trying to convince me that it would be ok to run a 26mm belt on a 25mm wide tensioner wheel...anyways after agueing with 3 people behind the counter I manage to find one from a Honda Civic that was exactly the same but 30mm wide.

Nothing is easy in this game...lol
