What a weekend!

Saturday I set off to pod land and got there for 9 ish to meet Chris D. I got 3 runs in as the staff was on slow time, and looked like they could not give a fuck! The mk1s best time of the day was a 14.3 it seems like I have forgot how to drive it as it's been over two years! The day was over when it spat out a drive shaft so it was turbo drinking time!

These are not my pics found them on the other forum.

Today I was to f++ked to do anything down the lockup so I had a shed day, and made this!

Then I had a go at cooking on of there *smiley*

But I ended up doing this as they would not move

Job done!

Then I found this *frown* the heat must of opened a crack.

Simon.

Aw bab about the casing!

Pisser, but better finding out now...

Been thinking are you the first to snap a TI shaft? Has it gone at the circlip groove?

A couple of the racers that goes to my local rolling road, have a the shaft made thinner in the middle so it can twist a little and not snap at the groove but then they use some different material than TI.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I wouldn't worry about it, cut out the broken bit and stress relieve the ends of the crack so it won't propagate.

You're better off putting the whole thing in the oven to warm it evenly and stop distortion. I don't mind welding it up, if you get really stuck.

Oh yeah can you pm me your address again.

I was thinking of cutting it out, as it's not really doing anything that bit.

Is it a Cooper? Is it a turbo?

Well I had a little more play time in the cave today *smiley*

You can see the shaft that was in the mk1 it looks like it worked it's self out and just twisted at the end

Next on the list was to play with my reserve cover I have, I used no heat this time just brut force and they popped out fine *smiley* I had to turn a bung down to weld to for one of them.

Then this little bad boy turned up !

So I put it straight to work! It cuts through alloy easy! Just got to wait for some fine belts in the post *oh well*

Then I set to on an oil pump, you can see on the edges where of the cover where the low spots are, I found this the last time and the cover cracked there, so I sat and sanded the cover down all flat *smiley*

All got to go drilled for a 4 bolt fixing and all bolts swaped to Ti *smiley*

Thanks simon.
