Well ill update it i suppose. Not many piccies tho.

Its all on the road, running fairly well bar a few niggles which are being sorted as they apear. Got some cbr1000 bodies coming soon and then its dyno time...

Tonight i had a play with mounting my speedo sensor:

Mounted on the rear ad this will give an actuall reading not how fast the front wheels are spinning up, its also open the option of traction controll (i know its no fun with tc) but on these greasy winter roads its spins up for fun in most gears.

So thats the current plans (next month or so) and the. After its all tuned up and running the itbs i will be purchasing an 1800 lsd gearbox, 2 advantages there the fist being obvious in the name, but secondly the gear ratios are slightly more suited to minis (the b16 gearbox really isnt!)

So onwards and upwards...

Yes mate, clutch de-blead due to the copper having no give, re-flared the pipe was ok for it and then the same problem, so got a goodridge flexi hose arriving this week to solve it once and got all.

The air filter will be gone altogether when the itbs arrive, so not too much of a worry *wink*.

Cheers lizard.

I am missing a turbo! initially i thought a turbo vtec would be amazing, but i realise now its just too much power, and you can go past a point of it being fun and into the realms of un-usable (fwd), and not safe unless i built a brand new roll caged shell from the ground up.

Please mate i have a whopping great turbo im gonna try to squeeze in ( i know it wont fit )
my frame is built to get the engine as low and far back as it can go, but i dont know how much difference that gives vs a build such as yours

This cars gonna get scrapped at this rate!!! Definitly less relaible than an a series at the moment!!! Had a misfire at around 4k (vtec area) cleaned all the vtec system out, check the solenoid, got a brand new coil on it. And on top of the 4k misfire it wont start 9/10 times (not starting now)
Good compression on all cylinders, intermittent spark and fuel, earths are good, all fuses and relays are good. And untill i know its all running good i cant takr off my manifold and build my throttle bodys!!! Should have just got a honda, this cars cursed.

Nope running a coil pack (brand new) with brand new leads (magnecor) and plugs (bosch) so cant see any of this being the issue.

What ECU is it on at the moment ?

But irrespective of which ECU, intermittent spark/fuel are classic symptoms of a key sensor not being read properly - the key sensors vary with makes of ECU but crank and cam pickups are always a good place to start looking.

Does the ECU software have any diagnostics ? (ie, a tooth logger to confirm the crank/cam sensors are reading right, and anything else for that matter).

EDIT - spelling.

Am currently searchin for an old laptop with a com port (used a friend before but dosnt work now) just cant get mine to connect, and havnt got any old computers to hand. But yes think the dta does note any faults and record them...
