Love the magnette

Waiting for the Magnette owner to have some jobs done that I asked for so I have been doing a bit more on the van.

I have actually driven it a couple of miles but the brakes need sorting (soft pedal with silicone fluid) and the engine needs tuning - or something !

Been getting on with trimming so that it presents itself a bit better should I decide it will be sold -eventually.
Have trimmed the centre console and carpeted the trans tunnel underneath it as well as making and covering new door cards





I have also started to line the roof and sides with 1" foam which will be covered in the same grey vinyl.

Today I finished the foam lining,framed out the lower van sides and cut the ply to fit.

'Where does the engine go?'

Van is now finished but must be sold as I now have one more car than garage space to store them.

No one seems to want it so I have reverted to standard steering and atmospheric induction in an attempt to broaden the appeal.

This leaves me with a GT1752 on a modified metro manifold, together with the oil and water feed and return pipes, a turbo HIF44 carb on a metro turbo manifold and a Metro turbo distributor and appropriate coil.

I have no idea what to ask for these if I sell or should I just hang on to it all as spares or for a possible future project ?

I have been offered a supercharger conversion for the Magnette,though.

Turboing would mean all new manifolds but I did (briefly) consider it.

of course he's going to turbo the magnette , its just a matter of time .

blow through the twin su's manifold with hif44's on there ,and use a single downpipe cast manifold with the turbo flange bolted /welded on it . jobs a good un ?

Just to confirm that the A35 van is now sold.

Frankly, I did not like driving it with the restricted visibility, anyway.

Three years of work for about 10p an hour !

10p /hr is better than nothing! I hate to think what I've lost on all mine over the years!

I have spent over £400 on a performance manifold and stainless big bore system and the poxy thing does not fit.

On the bright side it now has working disc brakes.

Show me a set of pistons that might stand up to a turbo and I might (might !!) think about it.
