Some more progress made on good frida, that was after walking up to pike a usual lancashire tradition.

Mini is now back on its wheels with both subframes fitted, the front frame had a small section cut out as per Matty's for extra clearance for the down pipe.

New front red dot cones have been fitted, with an extra 5mm machined of the trumpets, they currently set an minimum and still sits HIGH, hopefully when the engine is fitted it will lower it back to where it was.

Also made a new engine hoist bracket, ready for fitting the engine over the easter break.

Read that if you wanted a low mini you need to machine a few mm off them.

Glad to hear it will drop though, still got to fit the back ones but that's a simple job compared to the front.

Made some good / excellent progress this afternoon.

Made new brake lines for the master cylinder as the conversion kit doesnt't fit if you had a servo as the pressure reducer is in a different position.

The front subby has also been releived of some metal to allow extra clearance for the down pipe.

Thought i'd try out the home made engine lift, which worked a treat.

So with the engine now in its new home, started to set it to Matty's measurements for the down pipes so 220mm on the adjustable engine steady.

So its now time to start bolting everything back on, hopefully will get to a point next weekend where it may be start time but need to paint the arches and fit before the fuel tank goes back in and will need a down pipe so may be the weekend after.

More progress made this afternoon with the mini *smiley*

Managed to fit a few more bits and temparory bolt the inlet and turbo on.
Fitted the Hywell plenum to the carb ready to order intake hoses.

Still need to join all the lighting and indicators back up and fit intercooler, there's still plenty of other bits to finish, then its on with the interior.

Managed to get the intercooler piped up today but short of one 90 bend.

Ordered all the bends last week while at work and made the mistake of ordering a 45 instead of a 90.

Not sure weather to replace the alloy tube with a piece of silicon hose just to keep the engine bay looking tidy.

Also made a new munting bracket for the coil pack and luckily the HT leads still reach, just waiting for some more clips since ASH sent the wrong sizes.

Tomorrows jobs include fitting the drive shafts and bleeding the brakes and clutch, may even build the wheels and fit the rear cones.

Still awaiting bits from internet to finish off turbo piping *frown*

Bleed the RTS clutch up at the weekend and works a treat, a little heavyer than expected but sure it will ease off.

Still got lots of little jobs, but thinking of postponing the RR till the following week, just to give me a little more time and a few more mile under its belt.

Cheers Nick,

Rescheduled the RR till the 15th May 2014, just awaiting some clips for the silicone hoses and down pipe off Matt. Hopefully both will arrive either today or tomorrow.

Since the wife had gone to her friends for the weekend, I decided to make use of the time and oven and build up the force racing split rims.

Going to crack on with the mini today as off watching banger racing tomorrow, hopefully will be in a position to start the mini Monday as long as Matty Downpipe arrives today.

Cheers Carl, don't mind doing brake lines.
Simples once you work out where the bend finishes.

Another day spent in the garage, trying to get the mini ready for its first start.
Managed to get the drive shaft fitted and rolling on Force Racing Specials, suspension is still to settle since fitting Red Dot cones, even had 5mm mached off the front cones and still set on minimum.

Started to fit the dash then reaalised didnt have a T piece for the boost / MJ hose. Internal lines also fitted and fuel pump checked, set FPR at 4 PSI after having to strip the carb to get the float to work.

Also got Forge Dump Valve off Fleebay, only to find the diaphram is split so need to order a new one today.

The final straw yesterday was snapping off a bleed nipple on the minisport 4 pots so still no brakes *frown*

What size wheels are they? Considering a set myself. They look amazing on your car, with black centres.

my minisport callipers had sheered bleed nipples when I got them. as noted, apparently an issue on early castings. I ended up getting a machine shop to drill them out and re-tap
