Looks great Jim.

I do wonder though, 4" longer, wide rear track (looks as wide as the front) and that huge rear wing and diffuser (assume the low pressure point is just in front of the rear wheels) --- It's going to understeer.

Might be worth having a selection of different offet rear wheels and a spanner to remove the wing!

The rear as been made 4" wider, but so as the front so the rear track is still narrower than the front to the same ratio. I've made it 4" longer to stop it being to over twitchy after making it wider. There is a big front splitter still to come to give the front down force. Speaking to a few people adding front downforce without doing anything on the back will be unstable at speed. I've made huge adjustments possible so I can easily reduce to the track a few inches on the rear without cutting or grinding anything. I've got sensors on the car to measure downforce, and the datalogger will calculate drag. Time will tell.

How many pics have you seen of circuit racing, and hill climb minis with 13" sticky slicks up on two wheels? IMO that can't be quick, I know for a fact it can be scary lifting both inside wheels at 100mph, my aim is to stop this happening. The proof will be in the laptimes

Sounds like you have it all in hand.

Yep, when you have too much grip and a high CofG it tips rather than slides (been there done that!).

What really helped my car was moving weight to the rear (I sat a lot further back), getting it nice and low and stiffening it up to prevent roll.

Making it wider will help.

I made them from MDF, then Ian curley made a mould to make them in carbon (wet layed not prepreg), give him a shout and he can knock you some out

Well it's not a sleeper :)

I thought a bit about the wing and the curved roof. There is a large gap between the wing and the trailing edge of the roof. normally ( no wing) I would guess that the curved roof would create a big wake and lift (like a TT without a wing).

The wing is pretty far out in cleaner air but maybe adding a spoiler to the trailing edge could be beneficial to counter the air dropping over the end and creating turbulence and lift

That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system
