went out for a ride today after the rain, bad move, ended up cached in mud/sludge, wheels would not turn properly, need a good jet wash in the morning.

jet wash is fine if you protect all the parts afterwards.

One of the best runs is an old WW2 trench that zig zags down a hill in the woods that someone has put a lot of time and effort in to setting up for about 2km.

I have just found a vid of 2 runs that are just down from my house the trench run is the 2nd in the vid.

Well my latest toy is currently with Force Racing getting repaired but should be a tasty bit of kit when it's finished. I think Nick & Kean will vouch how little it doesn't weigh :)

Warning to all overweight old gits.

Yesterday, I thought I would get the bike out as it is a nice day. Simple 10k run along the river valley on tracks with a bit of hills at the start and end.

So, possibly enthused by the current success of the British Cycling team in the world championships, I set of at quite a lick. Hit the hills hard. Took me about 20 minutes, so must have motored along.

Felt a bit odd afterwards, chest pains and shortness of breath. Didn't sleep last night and today I've been coughing and tasting blood :( as well as being grumpier than usual.

So best build up gradually.

Christ Paul take it easy, takes me a while to get going without feeling pathetic and I am somewhat less mature than yourself.

I don't know as it's too heavy for the kitchen scales, my local bike shop's got a set so next time I'm cycling past I'll pop in & weigh it.

Good stuff

They race king tyres? i had the speed kings on mine and they weigh nothing, but washed out a lot in the corners, good for dry hard packed trails though.
