Would you believe You've had me out in the garage checking out my rollcage for potential lweight loss. I feel another glass out, interior out, everything out for further lightening will be due at the end of the season for another go at making the damn thing lighter.

I hate this forum sometimes!

Oh, yeah any adea how much the shell weighed with everything cut out after it had been shot blasted? must have had to tie it down to stop it floating away!

I think sub 500kg is going to be the new standard, if you can manage that with a full cage that will be something else.

Looks like I'll be chopping some large holes out of my subframe now too. *happy* Sub 500's is my target, its not easy though if you're trying to do it on a budget.

Rich - I think you have the worst case of obsessive tinkering disorder, I was expecting the update to be an extra hole drilled here and there, not a complete rebuild! lol

Dont bother with drilling the subframe matty. Build a tubular one. Weight loss is to be had greater then that of a lightened subframe. Gains are to be had in stiffness too.

Cheers rick, it needs colour! *wink* lol
It was 540kg at the rr shootout and I've lost 30kg that I know of, there was alot of paint on it before but not 20kg worth!

I wish all I'd done is drilled a few holes now

You'll get there Rich, its just a case of developing small bits n bobs once the car is rebuilt. It took me 4 years to get from 13.5 to 13.0

I seriously doubt it!

Pareto principle dude. It will take 20% effort to get 80% of the way there. Then 80% effort for the final 20%.

Just keep plodding away at it!

I think you underestimate yourself and your car with a target of 13.5.

Your car is getting lighter, and judgeing by the pics on facebook i take it the engine has had a small ammount of development?

Quite looking forward to building it back up and lightening as I go.
The engines the same as it's always been mate, i swapped the ap suretrac for a salisbury just before I started the rebuild but that's all. Poor motors took some grief :)
