Exhaust is coming along. Got a load of mikalor clamps to order for this and the boost hoses. This now needs tigging up before I make the tail pipe.
Added a couple of slip joints either side of the silencer to make it all easier to remove if I need to.

Boost hoses have arrived, all fits just where I wanted it.

Clamps are in order and exhaust is in for welding.

Had the downpipe to silencer exhaust section tacked to pre fit it. Really happy with how it's come out. Although now I'm wishing I fitted a v-band!

About to get started on the tailpipe.

Progress is good and it's giving me plenty on motivation. Hoping to have it ready to start testing by august.

Latest update. Got fed up with having to squeeze in and out of the car, so went with a quick release.

Just waiting for my brake bleeding buddy to return, and the cars pretty much ready to be mapped. Looking at a couple of track days for early next year. But am looking at some quiet local roads for a gentle shakedown too!

It’s coming along slowly

Had a load of new bodywork to fit.

Bonnet is on, but I need new pins.

Had to replace the a-panels as the front end was pushing them back, and they were catching on the doors when opened/shut.

Bootlid is also done

Just finishing making a set of hinges with removable Clevis pins.

Wired in the alternator and chargecooler pump today too.

Also, new vid of it running, with the new exhaust fitted. As I also wanted the confirm the turbo was good and it makes boost. Which it does. Waiting on the chargecooler rad to turn up now

https://youtu.be/Bf7sOZEUlT0

Door skin to bond in next. Then it should just be a matter of a few rattle cans to tidy it up, and a few MOT requirements (fog lamp/wipers/etc) before mapping and getting on the road

Edit: I seem to have said this before! The hinges are a clever little solution. What do they weigh?

Been waiting ages for 1 chargecooler rad to be made, and 2 turn up at once!

Turns out there was an issue at the fabricators, and the 1st was made too small. So now I have to work out what to do with the 2nd one 🤔

The correct one fits perfectly. Both outlets on the LHS, with a bleed on the other. It’s the exact dimensions of the grill opening, and fits between the end tanks of the Focus rad

Final plumbing from the pump to the rad to run next, then that’s the last of the big stuff.

Currently wiring in the lights, then it’s wipers, reverse light, and fog light.

Bit of an update from today

A-panels are bonded on, so is the door skin.
Doors fitted
Steering column had to be refitted as the steering wheel was off centre.
Few other bits

Been contemplating how to mount the additional radiator, and came up with this solution

The main rad has a u-section channel on top

So made a right angled bracket with a return on it. Used high temp silicone to attach it

Fairly happy with the fit.

Fitted the bonnet catches and here’s the result

https://youtu.be/rnZxlTba-bU

650g all in, is about as light for the road as I’d go.

I’ve made lighter, but this seems usable
