ha ha ha!!!

That is CLASSIC!

I welded some heavy eyelets into a similar-ish area for holding the mini down on the rollers as the place I (now) go to has the straps in the perfect wrong place to be of any use. More weight of course!

And you're happy to pull 'down' on these mounts? You're still putting a large bending on a 3/8UNF thread potentially.

I guess it's ok if using decent bolts though. I am however glad I didn't have the displeasure of giving MRA any money however - since they threatened to sue TurboPhil over his dizzy blanking plugs I changed my mind about that guy.

Hmmm, just realised the thread of the 'designed and manufactured by MRA' front panel mounts is stainless, not high-tensile steel...

Nice, looks like you know how to work a hole saw! *hehe!*

So...whats the weight saving on the subby soo far? Oh yeah those bolts are the choice of champions. *wink*

I was speaking to the guy that does my welding, and he recons every 14lbs you save is the equivalent to 5bhp gained.

We'll have to lay some railway tracks down the strip first.

Good to see some progress, have you figured out how to route the exhaust?

Hi,
I'm guessing it's going to go straight through that hole in the inner wing!
Cheers,

gosh i knew there was something i forgot leroy . i hang my head in abject shame .
fortunately i pre lubed the turbo with a special lubricant kryophosphate yttrium gelly ,specially made for doing the job ,hopefully that will overcum the drawbacks of premature start up , and leave me with no undue wear problems .

I was considering doing a similar thing with the exhaust manifold on a friends car. I was just a bit concerned about the pipework being so close to the bias valve. Do you think it will cook the fluid?

In the 13's at last!.. Just

I reckon itll be ok, its not that close, and the bonnet lifted will help

Just as long as that turbo isnt restrictive and it all starts glowing eh??

zacto nic, we wouldnt want that would we *wink*
matt ,the engine is a bit leaning back from where it will be , and ill get rid of the valve and put an adjustable one inside probably .
interstingly , i can get the bonnet shut completely with the oil filler cap off ,no machining nor nuffin !

Good work Robert. Problem is if it continues at this pace, you'll have to decide which mini to bring to avon.

Are you making another special clutch for it?
