Mike, are you sure that fuel filter can take the pressure of the turbo fuel pump? I've seen these split in the past, could be messy!

Car is looking really nice, keep it the good work

Mike,

Out of curiosity for when I plumb my expansion tank in, what take-offs go where?

I can see the the bottom most connection goes to the bottom hose, one on the side goes to the thermostat housing and the one at the neck is an over flow, but where does the other one on the side go?

I dont have a connection on my thermostat housing like yours, what does this achieve by connecting it to the expansion tank like this?

Found these diagrams, quite usefull!:

I accidentally snapped my over flow off, so im using the sealed cap, so i used the spare take off as the over flow, but it was orginally blocked off, but i havent had the entire job sealed as yet, so i may have to block off the over flow, All i have done is copied what the migs do.

Ahh right cheers for that, so the take off thats plumbed in to the thermostat is just the overflow going back in to the system?

Well no, i think you need an inlet and an outlet, you may need to make a similair thing to my bottom hose.

Im abit confused!!

I know I have to run a hose from the bottom of the header tank into the bottom hose from the rad.

Then theres 3 more outlets on my header tank, im guessing the top one is an overflow llike on the normal sidemount rad, but im not sure on the use of the other two?

My thermostat housing doesnt have a take off like you have on yours.

Ignore the others, they are just there as it is a universal fitment. Just blank them off, you need feed via gravity (the bottom hose) and an overflow return, (via the thermo housing) You could do this from the heater tap outlet.

Ah oki doki cheers.

You dont have to have the overflow going back in do you? My old sidemount just had a pipe running down the inner wing on to the floor!

Nah, all the car will do is pull water out of the tank into the engine. When you switch the car back off the tank fills back up a little. All will come clear once you have your tank.

Mike, how well did that material stretch round corners, do you think it would be easy enough to stretch round internal radii? If so where did you get the material from, looks like it could be a better option to flocking!

well ive only ever used faux suede on my doorcards, but that "formed" really well, as long as you pull it tight all the time before you staple the edges its fine, i used a bit of adhesive to lock it off aswell, if you go down the same route then i can give you a hand, i also have a bit of suede left over *wink*

Matty, the material i used was pretty thick stuff, however pleating the edges was a b!tch and looked tur£d! Ive ripped it off and im taking to an upholsters to have done proffesionally. The only way to fly in my books!
