Then I drilled this.

Then I ended up getting jiggy.

Thanks simon.

Is that for a nitrous bottle?

I seriously doubt it!

I wish it was that simple and cheep sprocket.

That's the gear linkage done *smiley* with a nice little weight saving by swapping the rods to alloy.

Than I made these lighter, starting to get the hang of this lathe.

Some more light weight bits.

That's it for a bit now as works getting in the way.

Clever idea machining down the centre of the bolts. I keep thinking about doing similar things with my pushbikes to reduce axle weight on the wheels and crank spindle

Yes every bolt I add to the car now, I make sure I have just the right amount of threads with no extra. Them two 12 point bolts are around the same weight as the Ti ones so it's worth doing.

Will the thin bits not stretch more than the tolerance of the original bolt?

Andy they are 3/8 bolts and they are down to 5/16 in the centre now, as they are Not load bearing I think they will be fine.

Jonny, as they are 3mm thick and there is no flex in them what so ever, I think the 1/4" bolts will before them lol.

Well as some of you boys know, I have been away on a little trip away with work so there has been no work done on the mk1.

I got in the cave this afternoon, and got some more bits done *smiley*

Some more speed holes!

Then I started on this little lot.

Not a bad afternoon really *smiley*

Simon.

Not a bad afternoon in the man cave today, I could not believe that the full exhaust system was just over 12kg so I had to work on that *smiley*

So I cut the pipes down so there is only a 30 min over lap.

Then I got the drills out *smiley* *smiley*

Then I grinded the flange about

I just have to finish cleaning this little lot up and give it a good paint.

And why not lol.

I see, no there is one front and back, it's like a skid guard thing. Cutting it off could be a right can of worms lol.
