There is so much more to come off that housing, I bet mine is less than 1/3 the weight of yours

I seriously doubt it!

Is it purely mounted on the nose end? If so then a hacksaw might be the tool of choice rather than a drill and chop the whole back end off?

How do you get on with the kad internal linkage si? And how far back is it mounted? Going to get one at some point and want to know where they sit, also can I see a picture of where it comes through the bulkhead so I can plan where I need to cut? Thanks bud

I like it mate, but I have done some mods to it, so it's not like flapping around like the old setup. It sits on the cross beam have a look at my pics on here, and you will see how I have done it.

As for cutting the hole wait to you have the kit in front of you so you can work out the hole.

Alright I'll have a look back, not sure if you've done this but I was going to weld on a short tube either facing in or out of the car and fit a cv/steering rack gaiter depending on what size hole suits it best.

Just looked back at that section you've made that the selector goes through, that plus a rack gaiter sticking inwards should do it nicely :)

I did the hole then when I got the kit I was miles off so I had to Bodge it like I have. I wash I had just waited to a had the kit to line it up right first. But if I do a full strip I will be fixing that hole lol.

Was you a mouse in a past life, everything is starting to look like swiss cheese.

I suppose every hole counts on the strip.

A mate said that about sand blasting until i gave him 2 boxes of mini bits / front and rear subby and 4 wheels *Clapping*

Now he hates it *surprised*

Is this the next symptom of the TM disease, the overwhelming will to drilling holes in everything.

Does look like fun thoug.

Sort of an update time.

I said that I would show you the mods that I have done to the linkage to stop the stick play and movement.

what you see in the pics is the refined version after a trial period.

What you see here is that I have sleeved the bolt hole so it's locked in nice, also the stick hole has been sleeved as there was so much play in the housing.

I have made some bushes for the rear as the old rubber ones were moving around a lot.

You can see the alloy bush I made up for the rear of the housing, also you can see the yoke at the top have been tapped out to m6, for two reasons the old pins allow movement, and it's easy to remove the yoke with out f++king it ( these have thread lock on them)

Here you can see that I have tapped the top pins out to m6, the bolt that interferes with the stick has had the end turned down for a nice fit.

At the Eng side this is tapped out to m6 when I did this I ran the tap through the gear box at the same time. (Note this is normally lock wired in)

Thanks simon.

Simon, It might be a bit late now, as it looks like the bit you need has been chopped off? but I found this mod of bushing the selector rod worked really well.
