Keep an eye on him. You'll turn your back for 5 minutes and it will be in pieces... *wink*

It's bad Alex. I can tell that from here.

In all seriousness. If all that shot on the note is the remains of the piston, the block may be salvageable. If not I'm sure you can get hold if another with so many of us keen to help out.

I would say shit on the bore has been auto corrected.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Bloody predictive spelling.

Johns translation is correct. Shot on note = Shit on bore. Lol

Nothing much to report really.

My new driver's door arrived from Andy, which you may have seen in his great thread explaining how to re-skin a door.

My polycarbonate windows arrived and I fitted the rear three. I'm waiting to fit the fronts as I still need to paint and fit the new door first.

I also tried to fit the new fibreglass frontend (from the Arc Angels), and failed so far. I didn't realise just how much cutting I'd have to do to get it on properly. It's a bit disapointing really, but I suppose it only means it's a job for another day when I have a bit more time to play with.

All in all not a great day - I keep finding more and more rough bits on the car - I already knew it could do with a paint-job, but there's more rust than I realised too. Mini!

I might do some more tomorrow, depending on time.

My arc angels fg clubby front was a right pita, the grille didn't fit in the hole. But apart from that it wasn't toooooo bad. The bonnet was top quality.

I would imagine most fg fronts will take a fair bit of work to mount up nicely

I was half tempted to by steel panels and make a removable steel front - wishing I had now!

Did that on my last mini. The fit was great but if you have polycarbonate windows no point in a steel front.

Giving up on this frontend and will just re-paint my current one.

When I mount the front by the subframe bolts, the whole front sits too low, meaning the rear pivots up on the remains of the winner wings. If I clamp the side down to where it should be it flexes the frontend pretty harshly, and there's no way it'd stay on like it. I cut more and more away until I wasn't really happy about how much I had to remove, but it still doesn't sit properly. Also, my bonnet only *just* fits in the gap at the front, and rubs on the sides. It's almost like the frontend is the equavalent of a t-shirt a size too small.

A few pics attached.

There customer service is shite I approached him at a show about the poor fit of my front end and bonnet and the fact it was about 1" longer then the front end, also didnt havr the correct bulge on the middle, he just shrugged and said, "well iv sold plenty without any complaints"...

The products aren't too bad considering some of the crap out there, but if something is wrong you're on your own.
