mini has done its usual thing of putting up a fight now the RR is booked for 9th May.

Fuel lines didnt fit and now need a metric compression tool to fit the red dot cones as the original ones are bolloxed and about 1/2" smaller.

Looks like another order to minispares gutted........

Should of carried on tonight as had a green light off the wife but was already miffed off and no real room till i get the subbys back on.

If you have the subframe out mate you don't need a cone compression tool, should just pull out after moving the hi-lo.

Managed to get the cone out with no issues as its very crushed compaired to the Red Dot new ones.

The issues is i need to put it back together now and with the Hilo at its minimum setting i cant get the arm in with out compressing the new cone.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Can you not just run a long bolt with a thick washer and a nut under the head through the tower bolt hole and into the cone?

I have been popping my cones in and out for months and I dont have a cone compressor 2 little bolts and a big nut and the whole top arm pin can pull out its a 5 min per side job its a dirty job though make sure not to get shit on the grease if you do it this way

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

Removed the pin to check any way but where only fitted 3 years ago and only covered about 2000 miles.

The cones are brand new so whe installed witht he hilo at its minimum setting i still cant get the top arm in to replace the pin.

not sure which hi-los your using but I had to fit mine without the locknut as it was sitting too high with used cones. Just wondering if you would be able to wind the adjuster up more without the locknut to let it all fit.

As for running without the locknut, I'm not overly concerned but I'm sure someone will have an issue with it

Don't you need to machine the hi-los down a bit with red dot cones?

I've had 5mm machined off the minispares tumpets just in case, *oh well*

http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/....aspx|Back%20to

Not much progress made on the mini as had to work yesterday, but the upside was my stainless plenum arrived and looks amazing, thanks to hywel. will get a picture up later.

Did some seam sealing round the turbo box and another coat of stone chip inside and out. Also started to make new fuel lines BUT did the last bend the wrong way in the 8mm flow line so thats now scrap :anger: and dont have enough to do another line. Do have some more at work though so thats tomorrow nights job.

Mini lights are now all fitted and the drivers door handle, with the mini being on axle stands its a little hard to get round it with both subframes not fitted, need to get it back on its wheels and the engine in so the build can commence.

Deadline is 9th May 2014 running and tax'd.

Was down at kames watching the scottish hill climb championship this morning. There was an extremely impressive turbo'd civic flying round. Did wonder how it would go in the mini
