Yep 8 coats will do nicely! Lol

Does anyone know how easy it is to drill the 1/2" selector shaft? Like is it fooking hard material?

Can you not replace it with a mild steel rod?

Do you want to lighten it? or is it to fit the UJs?

Cool, I'll try and make some collets tomorrow, complete with glory hole *hehe!* to drill holes for the roll pins. Have you got any 1/2" dies?

Yeah that would be cool if you could...only if you've got nothing better to do though, don't go out of your way to do it. I'd leave the windscreen though, just incase I can't get to the dash bolts with it in. lol

The collets will be just to steady the drill whist drilling through the UJ's and shaft, I'll leave them round yours after so you can use them.

I get the feeling the gear linkage will take more time to set up than the rest of the build. *oh well*

After a LONG weekend of work and even longer drive home its nearly finished. Still got some wiring issues to sort out and the gear linkage still needs work but all the work so far seems to of payed off! :) Have to say a big thanks to Nic and Ian for their graft over the last few weeks.

In the last year what you have done, is turn a quick and nice turbo mini into a stunning, mentally fast 16v turbo mini.

Ultimately this is how I want my car to turn out, really gives me something to aim for.:)

Hey just wandering did you use the standard cable retainer for the handbrake cable?
Thanks Hario.

The passengers seat doesn't look very comfortable but other wise looking good.

Yeah still using the standard cable and retainer. Haven't had time to make the final adjustments on it yet though.

Cheers Rob, yeah time was against us this weekend, so left the passenger seat out for now. They are very close to not fitting, the passenger seat is going to be a squeeze to get it in!
