Did you check the end float? If there's excessive endfloat and you have to change the triangle or shim it to get it right it will change the sprocket alignment.

You have to install the triangle plate (6 possible way most of which look nearly right but only one is actually right) and then do up the big nut on the sprocket.

If it's a new thrust plate I would expect 3 thou or less. A bit more on a used one.

The only reason I can think of for a bodge like that is that the threads have been stripped. If so you need to see if there is enough left to helicoil, otherwise the repair gets more complicated. From what i remember when i took the sump plug out it threaded back in fine and didn't leak when i put oil in when i first got the engine back hoping it would free up. |

Spi tank delivers up to 1bar fuel pressure so up to 10psi boost should be ok. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |
