It seems that way doesn't it, shame I couldn't keep more of the original shell really

Got the upper dash rail welded in last week

Finally found some doors so went to pick them up on sunday. They are very good and still have their original skins which wont need any repairs , came off an early 60's racer and have supposedly never been on the road.

The drivers side is a good fit with an even gap most of the way round but the passenger side isn't so good. The back edge of the skin touches the B pillar whilst the window frame is too far away. The pictures don't show it very well...

Not really sure what to do with that, is it a case of grinding the door skin lip back and then running a weld up it and keep going until there is an even gap? Cheers

Haven't got the hinges on yet but its the distance between the door skin edge and the window frame edge that's too big so the hinges wont affect it anyway.
It doesn't look like its been reskinned but I don't know for definite, its about 3 mm longer than the other door

Are those M-Machine A-panels?

You've made a lovely job of fitting them.

Yes they are from m-machine, a really nice panel worth the extra money in my opinion

Not been able to do much just recently, I was working on the front but still need to buy the drivers side inner wing and the scuttle before I can test fit all the panels and carry on welding. But I can't buy the panels as i'm very short of spare cash at the moment, me and the misses are going through the process of buying our first house *oh well*. So I can only work with the panels I already have.

Got the companion bins welded in and that's pretty much all I have done. I probably wont have as much spare time either now so work on it will slow down. I wont sell it though!

I don't have the patience for it to take that long. Was hoping to have it on the road this year but think I will aim for next year now

Not much to update as I'm still working with the bits I have already got. Last month I welded the boot board brackets in as well as the subframe strengthener things.

This month been working on the rear valance, decided to weld the closing panels to the valance first so I can paint and seam seal inside before it gets closed off.

Cheers

Got the rear valance on today, that's the back end pretty much finished. Going to add some more welds where the heelboard and boot floor meet then give it all a good coat of epoxy mastic primer.

Rear end is finished now, added some stitch welds to the heel board/boot floor, got the reinforcement plates welded on and the encapsulated nut bracket for the earth strap, will put the nut in and close it once its painted.

Gave it all a good key ready for the primer, started painting then ran out of paint *Clapping*

Gave it another key at the weekend and will finish it in the week when I get some more.

Cheers

Still waiting for my paint so I can finish underneath and have no more new panels I can carry on with so I thought I would make a start on my seats. They are a bit tatty with a few small rips but I might try and use them rather than having them re-trimmed, will see how well they clean up. They need stripping down as the frames need sand blasting and painting, the other one needs some welding as well, and the webbing needs replacing as it has stretched.

Here it was before I started

The vinyl came off easier than I thought and didn't rip anymore than it already is

Bare frame

That's all for now
