I think the wheels need a brighter centre colour personally. Perhaps "straw" (light gold colour) would go OK with the yellow?

I think your right Tom, black hides the nice V5 style. There slowly growing in me, but wished I'd gone for Silver now.

Quick update, after successfully remapping the N/a engine with TPS & Map compensation, I've started to remove the old engine. Exhaust off first, so did a little trail fit.

Fits really well, with loads of Clearence to bulkhead, oil drain and downpipe. Also will work just as well with my GT1752, if I decide to chase bigger numbers.

Next job, downpipe, just waiting for the exhaust flange from laser cutters

All is not lost, speak to Carl, I am 99% sure he can have the centres stripped and then anodised in a different colour.

Started work on my new short motor today. Spend most of the day just cleaning parts. Managed to get crank and rods all in and sorted. Next camshaft and timing gear.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

A few weeks on and im now on my second new block. The first had a cam follower hole that had been play with and was to big

Anyway today I pick up a replacement block and made some progress.

Confirmed CR is 9.8-1, hence I'll only be able to run 6psi boost. Which was always the plan, I'm going to stick with the AP turbo verto clutch, with lightened standard flywheel. Hopefully this will hold up, if not a RTS will be on the cards. Also found a Econ primary gear, so motorway cruising with be even better. 70mph at 3270rpm & top speed 128mph at 6k 😜

Very nice build! Regarding cam follower play in your (now no longer used) engine block....have you checked the option of boring the holes to suit larger diameter MGB type followers? I think all the Monte works mini's ran with this mod, might be a good option to get a working spare block again.

Plan is to use the damaged block as either a coffee table or may be some use for someone's K head project.

I guess boring out the follower holes wouldn't be cheap.

Get that k head on it and in the red mini when you have finished this one!

I've sold my k1200rs head to Rich1380, but I must admit I did stroll through eBay last night for another. If a complete kit comes up at the rights money I could be interested.

This morning I went to pick up my manifold and 2 piece downpipe from the TIG welders. Got there and 'Sorry not done', so really pissed off I decided to get the car up & running in Naturally aspirated form to run it in. So blocked off the turbo oil feed, fitted lcb & exhaust etc.

Been out and done 50miles of hard running in. All good so far, Engine feels really good as before, but steering intially felt very different.

The Quife LSD, seems to make steering feels very light in a straight line then heavy when turning. it also snatches back on its self a lot more. At first a thought the wheels were loose, but after a few miles I seem to adjusted to it.

I then get a phone call at 8pm, saying the guys stayed back late, and the manifolds are done.

So tomorrow, back off and turbo on
